How much is a respray?
Discussion
Hi all,
I have a large old 1971 Mercedes 300 SEL I've been restoring over the last couple of years, the bodywork is done, it's been fully prepped including stone chip (paint over). What should I expect to pay to paint a car of this size these days? I'm looking for a high quality job. Recommendations in Sussex/Surrey would be useful too.
Cheers

Expensive.
When I had my mk2 Golf GTI a respray was the only thing the car needed to complete the restoration, paint wasn't bad but to 'compete' it needed a respray. Some of the well known bodyshops in the VW scene, responsible for some truly stunning cars were quoting upwards of 7k+ for a full respray. Paint is expensive and shops with decent reps charge accordingly.

I've read a lot of good reports (and mentions of being good value compared to others) about Tyrone at Riviera Autobody, mostly on Porsche forums but he will do any make: http://www.rivieraautobody.co.uk/ they're near Wallingford so not that far away
