I'm sure you guys are aware of this, but for a week or so I've been getting the occasional HTTP 504 error (gateway timeout) when accessing pistonheads.com/gassing

The homepage has always worked fine. This is in Google Chrome for Windows 10, but also has the same error on Microsoft Edge, as well as Chrome on my mobile (on the mobile network too). It's always a 504 error.

Thought it was worth mentioning...

Cheers

It seems to happen at the same time on the days it goes wrong (usually about lunchtime).

I'm guessing there is a problem with the hosting / server load / some script doing something it shouldn't.

Yep, it's always at lunch time, never in the evening or morning (in my experience!).

I'm guessing these times will be peak usage, but it's never been an issue before. scratchchin

I've had this for the last couple of weeks, glad I'm not the only one.

Also an issue here. Appears more problematic around 12-13:00hrs, but also appear other times of day.

Two difference devices, one on fibre broadband and one on 4G, and its an issue for both.

Countless "Ooops - Something's not right. The (non existent) tech team have been notified" pages being served up over & over again so far today.

I would imagine the Tech Development team are currently looking at the issue and we will get a response soon. It was the same for me last night around 9pm until 10pm.

I have a theory that they re-boot the forum servers at 9pm on a Monday night because it's happened at least three times at the same time on a Monday that I can remember recently.

Hi guys, this one is apparently proving a bit difficult to find the source of the problem - the techies are still monitoring the situation because there is still some slowness going on, as you know, but the route cause is yet to be found... irked

I'll keep you updated with their progress.

Clicking on any of the news pieces on the homepage is coming up with a 404 page not found. But you probably know that already. biggrin

Do they keep missing it because it happens on their lunchbreak?
