With the seeming success of the RHD Mustang over here (this is purely based on me seeing them all over the place, not on facts/figures, maybe someone can enlighten if they have been a success sales wise), will we ever see a RHD Camaro/Charger/Challenger in the UK given GM's European retreat and FCA's removal of the Dodge brand from our shores. (i think).

Ford only did a RHD Mustang as they were on a 'Global cars' policy, ie. making the Euro and American versions of the Focus the same, bringing the Fiesta stateside, The Edge to Europe, bringing the Mustang to RHD markets etc. They seem to be going back on that policy (I believe they are going back to making the US Focus a cheaper/worse version of the Euro one) so you might not see RHD Mustangs on the next platform.

Although I would like to be wrong.

HSV are now offering RHD conversions on the Camaro for the Aus market, whilst Chevrolet sort out the next gen platform to be RHD capable apparently. Hopefully this means they will be available over here when the new one is released.

it's not really a global platform, they have removed the fiesta from the US already and the cars themselves are quite different i.e. the US focus and UK focus are quite different.

At considerable additional cost... with no manufacturer warranty. HSV isn't a manufacturer, its a tuning house like Alpine or Brabus, but not as good.

When the Camaro was based on the same Zeta platform as the Holden Commodore, Chevrolet said they'd never make an RHD version even though it would have been easy. Now it's based on the Alpha platform with the Caddy's, they're not even going to bother even considering the RHD market.

In fact, GM seems to be giving up completely on Europe with the sale of Opel and Vauxhall to PSA and focusing the American and Asia Pacific market. Considering that without Opel, most of their range are cheaply designed FWD SUV's.

GM haven't even got a brand to sell a Camaro in over here any more.

I'd love to see a RHD Vette... but we never will because Chevy said no and it would be hideously expensive to tax.
