Looks fantastic, especially with those wheels. Have you owned a Nardo RS at some point per chance ?

Out of curiosity, what are people's views on ceramic coatings such as the Gtechniq Crystal Serum? Do they do what they say and provide long term protection and swirl resistance or is it all mumbo jumbo?

Never used this type of product before but was thinking of giving it a go. Reep charge about £1100 for the whole car (clean/polish, paint, wheels, glass).

Thanks (sorry if a bit OT but hopefully relevant)
IME ceramic works well and lasts.

Had my previous car done, and my wife's car and now had my latest as well. All were done with Gyeon, purely because I work just around the corner from their local detailer, Staffordshire Car Care.

FWIW, to the OP, I had PPF done by Invisifilm in Cheadle Hulme. They have a workshops, but I believe they do most of their work within the Porsche/Ferrari etc. franchise showrooms.

At a minimum you need to PPF the Carbon bonnet and the front bumper..Nardo is a hell of a lot easier than Black..Some POrsche paints are softer than others and much more prone to chips..Guards and Flat Black are amongst the worst however don't know anything about Nardo.

Sorry forgot my manners there...Congrats on buying the Nardo RS..It looks amazing in that colour and being a tasteful and timeless PTS colour will always hold on to its value IMO..No idea what you paid and none of my business, but taking everything into account it probably cost you less than mine did.

Na taff, did not like the colour in the end.I was impressed on how thin the roof with lining is though.

Not sure what causes it.These new water based paints as opposed to the old oil based paints have made PPF companies a fortune..The old paints very extremely resistant to chips in my experience..

Personally if your not ragging around on track or across country in groups tailing your mates I'm sure you can respray during sale time.

I ppf'd my last Porsche and I'm glad i did, i had holes in my ppf when i dropped it at the dealer when i sold it, they removed the ppf as they were sure stones had penetrated it.........we were all pretty shocked to see no imperfections in the paint.

Just needed to find a way to protect the plastics and and windscreens as they had to be changed after being sprayed with stones from the rear of friends cars. Glad i ppf'd the headlights too!

There are protection options for windscreens now. It's like a PPF but specially made for windscreens, alot of supercars these days are opting for it.

I have a 5 year old 991.1 GT3 and it’s now on 7k miles it’s not done many track days and has had one detail and slight correction apart from that it gets carefully washed by me.

I gave it a very thorough wash last weekend and the only mark I can see anywhere was two tiny stone chips on the bonnet. They are tiny. I’m the only one that would ever see them, if I didn’t carefully hand wash I’d never know...

Sorry I just don’t get this obsession with Plastic wrapping.... I took it off my GTS as it looked awful. I have yet to see a ppf’d car that looks better after the wrap than before

Well here it is, not a join or wrinkle in sight, people have stood and touched it and said that’s not got PPF

MY 991.2 GT3 Would chip by just looking at it yikes

It’s a wrap not a cut to pattern

Now let’s choose a picture biggrin

As much as I detest paying the crazy money they charge for PPF, I must admit I always get the front completed on every Porsche I buy/own. For instance, my Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid was delivered December... wash for fist time weekend just gone... rather large Stone chip on bonnet! I am hoping that the PPF has done its job which I am sure 70% has.. if not then I am sure it has limited damage which I Tiny amount of touch up pen would sort out

BTW— I have used the Most expensive in the market, and would never use them again! ONLY would I ever use Maxprotect. Janis is a Genius when it comes to complete invisible PPF

I did ask about it but some companies said it wasn't very good back then. Any summer toy I get is getting PPF, a guy I have been using for years and my friends is extremely reasonable which makes it a no brainer, its cheaper than a respray and bugs come off easier lol.

Just depends how you drive, I think if i was bashing around the roads on my own then wouldn't be too much of a problem but in groups across the NC500 i got peppered. One of the guys in the group just traded in his GT3 RS and picked up his new GT4 in black, when he got back from our trip, new windscreen and full front end respray, it wasn't cheap.

I personally think that the windscreen film has improved recently but yes it all depends on how you drive. Windscreens usually get chipped a lot on track days and long supercar drive trips/rallys.

if you need any advice just give me a message smile
