No WP for the 1st round allocations. You could take the risk and wait for round 2 after the factory closure - but then what if they don't actually make any more ??? Stranger things do happen... smile

What exactly is included in WP .?
2 Stage WP

Stage 1
-carbon-fibre roof
-titanium cage
-sway bars,
-coupling rods,
-steering-wheel trim

Stage 2
-magnesium wheels

Apparently the issue is that there aren't enough Magnesium wheels for the early cars - so if you specify WP you'll get the roof and cage - and maybe you can add the wheels later? they are an optional extra to the Stage 1 WP.

I've had this Viper Green 997.1RS model on my desk since I set up my business in 2006 - always wanted one just like that - so Lizard Green is just the perfect colour for me smile

I'm pretty sure the first batch of RS's will be very limited due to the impeding factory shutdown end of April..This first batch will not have the Particulate filter fitted and WP will be unavailable..The second and much larger batch will resume in September and continue well into 2019 and will have the new filter fitted, as well as the WP being available.
My spec was sent to my OPC 8.30 this morning and basically was a full PCCB Lizard spec with all the inside bits in Lizard..I'm currently on Black rims with green pinstripe however the standard Aurum wheels are quickly gaining favour so i'll probably go with those.
I'm not fussed about the WP as i much prefer the full Lizard look and if i choose WP i'd be tempted to go for a black one..

So if my build locks Friday when could I expect delivery?

If the factor prohibiting WP is the magnesium wheels, could one still get the CF frunk, roof and spoiler?

How much would not having a WP car affect the value of the vehicle down the line?

Ever thought of speccing the car per what you actually like rather than resale down the line? just a thought....

Yes, black is my preference but I hope to trade this for a speedster later in the year. If this was a long term car of course.

Have you received confirmation of an allocation?

Despite being told that i would get considered for one, it's looking unlikely as nobody wants to take my call or deposit weeping

Are you getting from a Porsche franchise OPC?

My OPC has not received allocations from Porsche today, just a notification that the car is live for configuration...expecting their allocations in the next day or so.

So you are taking the car mainly to flip for the next rare thing so need to spec for max resale? nice thumbup

Thanks Rich - spec in, order confirmed and April 10th build completion - with a bit of luck, I’ll have it in time for my Ring & Spa trip at the end of April - fingers crossed biggrin

Thanks for making unfair assumptions.
Firstly, this is my third GT car this year
Secondly, I haven’t sold a single one
Thirdly, I would prefer to keep the 3RS but want to give more business to my dealer in incentivise them to give me a speedster.

Someone wise once said assumptions are the mother of all f@&k ups.

Wow congrats on the allocations! Amazed this is all happening before Geneva. Must be something to do with the much discussed factory closure.

Good for you chap - enjoy - it's a very good looking car - I am amazed how much better / agressive it looks than the gen1 and that was no dog - the front end really suits it and the back is perfect - they've done a brilliant job. I love the Lizard , the Gold Wheels look cool as do the black with green (so much nicer than the black with red for some reason) & the decals are back - can't say fairer than that ; good job Porsche !

Only problem is I don't think they'll sell me one but we'll have to wait and see - but I think my lucks run out - but who knows I might make the cut for the MY 2019 - got to keep the faith , but if my luck has ran out then so be it , it was fun while it lasted - no complaints from me smile

Enjoy in rude health.)

Assumptions not required. You have already stated that you are looking to be speccing for value in order to trade the car in to try to get the Speedster.... So well done for taking an allocation of the gt3rs that you want 'to incentivise the dealer' for the next rare car especially with a 2rs and .2 gt3 already.

My OPC has known its allocations for about a week. The build slots were officially uploaded to their portal yesterday. There now scrambling to get the builds specced for midday Friday which is the lock down date on them.
