Believe me, at that pace the car was not easy to extract the time. I don’t think a manual car would have been any more difficult- but the manual car would probably feel more forgiving

One of the factory drivers (Timo kluck iirc) mentioned last year at the Geneva launch that his times between manual and pdk were about 3-4seconds at the 'ring fwiw. So obviously the dual clutch car is faster (probably more due to the e-diff) but not a whole lot in it. 7:12 in any of these cars dual clutch or not is no joke and definitely not 'easy' as claimed....

Kept the revs at the top end for sure , and Steve as you said big commitment on one run had all 4 wheels off the track and no lift .

I’d agree. 3-4 seconds at the ring would be where I would see it. The manual car would not be much slower

Car was supposed to leave factory next Friday (3 RS)but have received news from dealer that there are internal PAG quality checks necessary for both GT2 & 3 RS, UK deliveries now not scheduled until week commencing 21st May, anyone any idea what these quality checks relate to or have had similar news.

Initial completion date was 6/4 , told last week that completed on the 20th ..... and would "take 3 weeks " from then .

I’d like Porsche to give Kevin Estre a .2 GT3, a set of Cup R and send him out for a couple of laps on this 2018 faster track...it woud be a much faster LapTimer than 7.12 IMO
I think you're right.

Then what would be really, really interesting, is to see the split times. The turbos will provide prodigal shove through the flat-out sections, but I really still think they might be a hindrance (albeit potentially only minor) in the twistier bits.

Talking of that "little bit of track in the woods"...if I had a GT3 RS incoming this would be mighty, mighty tempting. It's apparently in the car he set the lap time in.

I arrive there that day for DN19 (day after), so if I get chance, will try and see him driving a few laps. It's very tempting to add "just one more" track day into the trip!

Was told some time back (and had no update) that mine would leave the factory on 4th May. Delivery around two weeks from then. After PPF, hopefully be driving it by last week in May. Getting excited.
Cheers.

Did it happen? My build competition date was supposed to be 20th April, but it's been put back to the 4th May.

Mine also was meant to be the 6th, then put back to 27th April, which I saw on the screen at my OPC yesterday, then it’s a fair wait for a Sportscar boat apparently, have been told to expect delivery early June for all cars

My dealer said it was completed last Thursday and was awaiting extra quality control checks being the first of the run. You could say missing rear and side windows would be a major qualiry control issue !!

Anyone able to answer these two questions:

- Why did Porsche move away from the plexiglas side and rear windows of the 991.1 RS, mime were fine.

- AP said in his report at the time of the 991.1 RS that they used magnesium for the roof because it was lighter than carbon, and the roof was a structural part, now he seems to be saying the reverse.

I also recall at the time of the 997.2 RS he said PDK had no place on an RS, is he always speaking what Porsche say at the time he should speak?

Can't recall if he's made a statement about the RS never being torbocharged !
