You don't want GAP insurance you want Market Value/Agreed Value in your insurance policy. GAP insurance normally pays out the difference between what your insurance company pays out and what you paid for the car. With a GT3 RS clearly the car will be worth a lot more than invoice.
Someone on here recommended these brokers a year or so ago who I've used and have been excellent
https://www.nowellandrichards.co.uk/
My GT3 is insured through them with Zurich Private Client....that policy pays out to maximum of 50% over invoice value so in my case my GT3 is covered to £210k and I'm also covered for three track days a year. Clearly the value wouldn't work for an RS but that's their job to get you the right policy!
I'm much obliged to you Cheib for the information and recommendation. I shall get onto them for a quote. Someone on here recommended these brokers a year or so ago who I've used and have been excellent

Hi,
Handover Saturday, won’t sleep till then. Never had a new Porsche so looking forward to it.
Is there any brief I should give to OPC to make it special? Her indoors deserves a bunch of flowers at least after all her patience and understanding since LOI 4yrs ago (tongue in cheek).
Will I get any goodies at the handover or later, don’t really know what to expect.
Thanks.

Great stuff , PDK nice to get a new Porsche always ..... most of us can only afford that rarely .
Well....actually the new GT cars are essentially at minimum costless if one is able to get one at list. Affordability is a rather more serious issue for cars that depreciate not those that are worth 50% more after you drive out of the showroom.PDKSport said:

With all the talk of building relationships with dealers, buying 5 Macans a year etc in order to get a build slot, how did you get one having never owned a Porsche.
Not criticizing by the way as I think its great that the clique is not as strong as people suggest.

So, PDK does have a purchasing history.
Hi folks,
I bought two used Porsches from different OPC's over the last 5-6yrs and had them maintained at my local.
After being promised, my local OPC bumped me for an RS and I complained to Porsche GB at the unacceptable way I was treated (very long story).
An RS was then made available for me at a different OPC.
I haven't heard of this happening before but I wasn't giving up on my complaint as Porsche should not get away with how they treat customers.
I can explain further but it would take around 20 pages of text, honest.
Thanks.

Plenty of others will tell you similar ,there is a lot of nonsense sprouted by people regarding allocations .

Your not the only one. I've bought a 997.1tt and in 2016 bought a 991.1tts and a macan within a month of each other, all maintained at my local OPC. I enquired about a GT3RS and a GT3 at the said OPC and they have blatantly ignored me, selling the GT3RS to a 'favoured customer' no doubt. I also sent in a spec code for a new Macan GTS and although it was initially looked at, because i didn't want one they had in stock but not in the spec i wanted they weren't interested!!! go figureI bought two used Porsches from different OPC's over the last 5-6yrs and had them maintained at my local.

Im guessing at my local OPC, if your face fits, etc...

Yeah,
I suppose those of us getting a car this time round should be happy and we are. Be nice to get the topic back on track although my final thoughts on Porsche OPC’s and Porsche GB can be summed up as ‘Institutionally Arrogant’.
Cheers.
My personal belief is that it is very dependent on the OPC or group of OPC's, plenty of other people seem to have seen the same. I can fully understand they way they act the way they do, they have a business to run at the end of the day and they have to make money. Some may be short sighted in that they are out to make max $$$ with little view to long term customer relationships but when they have punters queuing out of the door it is probably hard to see that. At the end of the day it is your money and your choice, play the game or move OPC's or maybe change brands. It is a car, you buy what suits your needs or whatever pulls your heart strings. Some will make money and most will lose it, personally I do not set out to make money from cars and fully expect them to depreciate, I buy them to drive. I could not get a GT3 and was treated pretty poorly after placing a deposit for a Turbo S so have decided to spend my money elsewhere. I did not write a letter of complaint or start bhing about it (I am in no way against that approach either) but my personal choice is to just walk away. You've got the right attitude and kept your dignity fully intact..I'm also starting to get tired with chasing the latest toy and am starting to look at other brands for credible alternatives..I'd love to buy a Lotus Exige 410 and New Vantage, but the thought of catastrophic depreciation makes me sweat..
