Many thanks for the info. I'm not really sure how I feel about that to be honest. The thought that they're driving the cars 10 miles there and back. Are the cars covered somehow as they must be susceptible to stone chips surely? In any case that would explain the mileage. Much appreciated
Every car I have seen has a variety. Some cars are still wrapped in the factory white cover with the pool noodles on and some have a few bits of paint protection or tape on their exposed edges.

I just wish we had some more threads on driving the bloody things rather than who flips and who flips-out!

Perhaps I should start a thread about how great this car is to drive and how I've enjoyed over 2k miles in the last month, including its first outing at the Ring biggrin

HAHAHAHAHAHA.... you/we will be lucky to get a coffee cup.! Im not expecting anything other than that OR i my push for a 'Large' mug, they are totally useless gifts that Porsche give out, could at least throw some all weather mats in! When i pick up my .2 GTS i asked for all weather mats, to be presented with a chip and pin machine
Yes just as I suspected! wink super happy with the allocation though so can't complain.

I arrived at the Nurburgring on Thursday last week for DN19 on the Friday, Manthey had a trackday going on...

And a short video as I was giddy (always am when I first arrive at the Ring) laugh

I work right near there too and i see them every day, i always notice as there’s normally smoke coming off the tyres and a real howl from the engine just before they hit the limiter. Its only ten mile but what sort of miles are they? I also was reminded recently of the CGT that was binned on that road during a test or something....

I wondered what goodies I would get on handover as I’ve never collected a new Porsche and I got 4 tumblers, £60 worth.

Miles wise my car had 9 on it upon handover.

I keep getting an error message, Emergency Call Fail- any ideas?

Also not had any of the books or manuals, according to OPC they are still waiting on them. Anyone else?

Cheers.

The tracker issue is a common fault - been going on for months now ; issue is apparently at Porsche’s end rather than Vodafone - if you call them (Vodafone) they will put a note on the file not to call you when it looks like you’ve had a crash as long as the ignition is on & the car is moving . Then all you do is cancel the message on the dash - if the red logo left there annoys you, you can turn the engine off and in again to get rid of it.

It happens on my 991.2 GT3 intermittently - I think going over pot holes, etc, jolting the car , kicks it off - it’s a pain and they really should have fixed it by now frown

Porsche can deactivate the system for you...have just done so on my GT3. OPC told Porsche GB, Porsche GB sent me an e-mail asking me to authorise disabling the system and telling me they will update once they have a permanent solution. I replied "yes" and they sorted it remotely. I now get an error message when they start the car but no more myriad faults when enjoying the car!

Nice and pretty informative interview with AP..So to clarify the Ti cage saves 9.5Kg and the Mg rims saves 11.5Kg..I love everything about the Weissach pack and will get it on my hopefully new RS next year, as long as i can get the Mg rims..I'd have to see the Lizard WP in the metal as in photos i prefer other colours with the WP..
I have a yellow GT3 so i'll go for a different colour..TBT i don't like paying £2.5K just to paint half the car in a Special colour..On a non WP car paying for one of the special colours is a total no brainer to me, either LG or even better Miami..
I think they look awesome in White and GT silver but not my choices as i think they're too synonomous with the gen 1 RS, the same goes for Lava.
I'm not quite as keen on Black today unless WP as i think it both clashes and hides all the other black bits..If i go non WP i think i'll go Miami and with WP i'll go Black with Guards a close second choice..Either way i'd want the gold Mg rims as i feel it gives the gen 2 its own separate identity..
