.....She also mentioned something about the absurd spoiler but I can only assume she will get used to it the same way she did with the gt3 wink
My wife said the same to me in the late 90's when I went to buy a 1972 2.7 RS for £25k - So I bought a Honda instead furious

IME it's generally better to ask forgiveness than permission in these matters.

Buyers guide from 2002 - still ‘cheap as chips’
Good examples available for £30k

To be fair the one I looked at was a bit scabby.

Just read the thread. Couldn't help but see mentions of Mk1 Escorts as well as the 997.2 GT3RS. These two sit in my collection, strangely similar cars from completely different eras and manufacturers.

The Escort is an RS1600 BDA Cosworth with an original factory steel bubble arch body, vinyl buckets, period harnesses, magard sump guard (I'm told they're rare as hens teeth) and even the little bendy co driver light for map reading. Oh how I love it.

They weren’t £30k in 2002 at leat not at Autofarm...they had one up for £55k which I nearly sold my six month old E46 M3 to buy....but didn’t.

You can come and back me up next time I'm trying to sell another wonder of Man Math's to Mrs Digga.

I'll stand right behind you, at a safe distance. hehe

Lovely, lovely cars, both of them. The first Gen 2 RS I ever saw was the same colour as yours. It was brand new and owned by a chap in the village who sadly (inexplicably) eventually traded it for an Aventador... doh!

There's a good car with known history and detailed papework in LHD that could be had for around 150k GBP.

It's LHD and currently in Europe but it's top spec with lift/leather et all just missing PCCB from what i can see but i guess even those you could have retrofitted if you really wanted the bragging rights..

PM if you want to know more. I think I may have found a valid alternative to be revealed in due course..

Ive had mine since new in 2010, only use it on track days now & trips to the German track. Have a loi in for the 991.2RS but having just caught up with the opinions on here, not sure if I want to chop it for a new one especially for a pdk only. Not sure of the value either, lwbs & pccb along with 28K cant stop smiling miles. Its been such an awesome experience, can I really let it go? Oh & the engine has probably been topped up with less than 1/2 lire of oil in that time, the metzger is just rock solid. Its never been sworn, how can anyone sworn this car, it demands to be driven, it screams at me in the night if I ignore it for too long. Only the cups stop me from driving as much as I would like. Anyone part exd a 997.2RS for a 991RS & did you regret it?

It'll be worth pennies when the market crashes!

I'll take it off yours for £50k right now to save you the hassle... wink
