This is for the guys in the UK.

I was considering a full IPE or Dundon system. My dealer said it could impact and they couldn’t install it. To be fair they didn’t seem that knowledgable.

After hearing that the full system might cause an issue I was thinking of going for a simple Rear Bypass.

Can anyone confirm what systems can be fitted without risking the warranty?

Very excited!

I think a few have Sharwerks fitted and OPC’s have indicated shouldn’t be a problem. BUT it’s very much down to the OPC you take the car to for any warranty work they are effectively the gate keeper so you should discuss with them.

My OPC used to fit the Sharkwerks bypass but now they won’t as instructed by Porsche, another said they would but there would be a warranty flag put on the service record.

The safest way is to have the pipe removed prior to the car being taken to the OPC prior to any warranty work. I’m not sure what would happen if the car had to be recovered to a OPC by Porsche assist with the pipe still on as you’ve not had the chance to refit the OEM box?

I was looking to have a Sharwerks system fitted by Chris but I'll only have my car another 10 months so not going to bother now

You seem extremely confident as regards your allocation, all in writing I assume.

I can’t believe no one has managed to get an aftermarket exhaust without invalidating the warranty.

What happened to RUF, etc?

I still can't understand why people think they can modify something and still expect the manufacturer to honour the warranty.

I'n not against modifying cars and would love to put sharkwerks bypass on my 997.2 but I would rather not risk the warranty.

RUF is an accredited manufacturer so not the same thing...you buy a RUF from them as I recall so they do the warranty.

With other manufacturers the warranty is only affected on the rear bypass leaving the rest of the car with full warranty.

This is what I was hoping for.

You are right. I thought RUF also sold exhausts etc.

Tony - just do it - the Sharkwerks sounds mega and you could transfer to the RS in the future biggrin

wouldn't there be a difference between initial warranty and extended warranty? for the extended one they can demand no changes at all, while for the initial one they'd have to proof that the aftermarket part was directly responsible for a failure?

Yes I know they sound fantastic but I don't want to cause my OPC any problems for obvious reasons, so I'll leave as is, besides us pensioners have to save the odd shilling where we can wink
