Not how my OPC works, absolutely no hint of any of that shenanigans.
I remember you saying which OPC you used, its mine too and I wouldn't be able to make the same statement.Regards

Hi guys. What's your advice on this. I live in London and my goal is to build a relationship / credibility to get a GT3RS allocation in the future. Specifically I'm currently interested in ordering a brand new Macan e-hybrid and buying a second hand Cayenne e-hybrid.
What I'm after is some advice about which OPC(s) to approach and how to play it to maximise the chance and shorten the time to being able to one day order a GT3RS. Thoughts?
It will take years to build a strong relationship with the people required at a opc to secure a new rs model. It will also mean you will have to spend more with the dealer than you will properly pay if you paid overs, once they know you are a serious car not and already own a gt car you can then px that back in at a later date for sensible money to secure a new one in the future. If your in it to make a quick buck you will need to get in line with the other thousand already waiting. I’ve tracked gt prices for years waiting for the drop and they seem to have fallen slightly but nothing to get me excited enough to go and buy one! What I'm after is some advice about which OPC(s) to approach and how to play it to maximise the chance and shorten the time to being able to one day order a GT3RS. Thoughts?
If you pay the overs from an OPC you can then dictate that you get offered the new RS as part of the deal. You'll then be free to sell it on at Romans for well over you paid or if you want to keep getting new GT/RS models px it back for what you paid for it and get another new car and let the OPC take the overs.
OP as others have said, you will struggle securing a gen 2 GT3 RS allocation.
First flipped 991.1rs GT3s sold for just under £300k so gen 2 is anticipated early £300ks initially.
Imo you would be better seeking out a late gen 1. There are plenty of low mileage varied spec OPC and quality independents cars at sensible money and a few 66 platers well under 1k miles top specs too.
In reality and for road driving at least, there will be very little difference between the gen1 and 2 cars imo.

I have told this tale before but seems quite fitting on this thread...
Instructor at PEC 2 years ago told me they’d had 13 ‘I’ve just bought a new Macan’ guests the previous day. They were all employees of the same company.
Their non Porsche owning boss had enquired at his OPC about a then new GT3RS. Was told he couldn’t have one as he hadn’t bought at least 13 new Porsche’s from them.
Ordered 13 Macan’s, and a GT3RS on the spot.
(Promptly sold the Macan’s and gifted the driving days to his staff)

That proves that we all have different experiences with dealers...and I may well have the same experience as you in the future! All I can say experience to date has been very good.
I just think they feel for you as you ordered a pink Boxster :-)on a side note though you have bought quite a few new cars.
The very fact this thread exists and been answered too is proof of how awfully wrong and absurd things have become with GT Porsche.
I still think this is not a good thing and evidence of this is that this is limited to the UK market. In Europe if you really want a GT car and you move fast enough you can get hold of one. UK is mis-priced and totally absurd in its allocation numbers and method. Very disappointing.

From my dealer I bought a new 2016 Cayenne GTS then traded that against a used GT3 991.1 then a year later I got offered a new GT3 991.2. I asked for a GT3 RS but I politely got told to P*** off, so I’ve just bought the wife a new Macan S so hopefully I’m moving up the list for a future RS ... who knows??
This thread is fascinating. Clearly it's way too much headache to try and build a relationship now. By the time I build it the market will turn. At best I'm buying two normal cars, and that's not enough. And even if you get the RS new, you don't get to make the profit when you upgrade a few years later. At this point might as well take the hit and pay the overs. On a Mclaren.
