you made a mistake and directed the post to "rsvp911" hence you are getting abit of stick :-)

I have been 100% honest with my cars ? I even bought a R a few months having getting my GT4 (my dream car on paper) as the R is a better road car and more fun so I bought another, So how can I have changed my view when I sold my R bought a GT4 then straight away bought another R ? I PUT MY MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH WAS. ALso bought an S1 not long ago it lasted 1 month !!!

not saying any of these cars are bad, I have always said these cars are all great cars and market leading.
I also said the GT4 could be great and will be the modders choice, I would not rule out another but modded, the looks and sound of it were perfect imo.

But I think the GT4 was lacking in some areas and the detune really fked about with the engine and mpg, the gearing just saps the life from it also, it is what is it sorry to say, the 991.1 RS seems a bit in no mans land to me now. Does not make them bad cars.

what fks me off is blinkers owners !! who say black is white. I say black is black when I own the cars and am 1st to point out the down sides when living with them for real.

I have driven a lot of cars and own too many to count, and some times a bit of magic gets into a car which elevates it above the norm.

I think the R did that and I thing the 991.2 Manual GT3 does it, hence if I don't like stuff I sell them and if I do like stuff I buy them , even twice !!
OR I mod it, I changed the rear sus after a month in my GT4, warranty or not screw it, it was fixed and pointless on that car and needed changing straight away. Have you done yours ?

I could own a 991.1 GT3 or an RS and they just don't quite hit the spot esp the 991.1 normal GT3, I never got on with that car and to me it never really felt proper GT.

The .1 RS also imo falls short of the RS branding but has the looks in spades, Porsche really are on form atm with the new RS and it makes the old one ... well just outdated and sits some where very hard to sell in the market place at £170k. The new ones moved the game on far more than the looks of them under the skin and spec.

going back to "rsvp" he sold his RS for a normal manual GT3 and backed up what I have said his new cars more involving and fun .

Again a few GT4 owners now own "R's" funny that, ask Chris what his R is like over his GT4.

Porsche don't make bad cars, but some times they do trickle out a special cars. I am not saying the new GT3 is perfect either but it ticks a LOT of box's and offers that some thing extra when driven 99% cars don't.

if you have not driven one then Catchpoles vid really gets it right and sums up the car, take another watch as no one believes any thing I say.
well they do it just takes 5 years and then people catch on :-)

Catchpole reviews point out what makes the car over the 991.1 involvement, EPS and being able to tell what the car is doing on the limit.
I can drive this car at 100% the car gels with you, that's why some owners I lol at when they say the EPS feels the same !!! totally clueless owners ! or they are just bullstting then call me names to back up the bullst !!!

https://youtu.be/w0d_AZbSLwQ

I could be fake and do reviews which bend the truth ! but as most people do that some people do back me up and enjoy my honest reviews.
Any way watch Catchpole, he nails that review even at the end where he always wants a GT3 but not a 991.1 !!!

He understands cars and is not about Values or bullst just wants a car to drive, refreshing.
I guess you could email him and tell him he is talking bks if you feel that strong about the older model ;-p

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having strong opinions on any car, but they will be subjective and therefore most people's views on what constitiutes a good car will vary. The love of cars binds us together on this forum - except for those that seem to have an obsession with values. What divides us is when cars that some absolutely love are slated by others. Since it will always be a subjective argument, no good can come from it, only bad.

No doubt the gt3 manual is a great car but it’s the constant bashing of the GT4 and .1 GT3 RS that gets tiring to read.

2015 Evo COTY was the GT4. As good as you say you know your cars I think the majority would go with the balanced view of a large number of journalists ( i think Catchpole was on that panel also) so you could hardly say the GT4 was flawed.

Thanks Robbo 66, Julierpass and Jarpot - Wow 194K!

Also interesting what Steve Rance says about the GT3 reviews from Catchpole. Just watched it and is an eye opener for me.

I thought that the 991.2 RS were all MANUAL - seemingly not.. Perhaps its just the coming batch that are.. Problem being that I WOULD drive the car , so perhaps an RS is just going to lose me more money by putting the miles on it, and not be noticebly better for me as an average driver ! Plus its not manual either....so sadly it has to be the wrong car.

I haven't driven any of these cars but like the RS looks more, which I guess is the main reason that they are more coveted. So to talk down the values laugh of the 997.2 RS as there isn't as far as i can make out any history to GT3 RS cars, or famous ex drivers who are now departed etc.. apart from the new batch (?) being the LAST manual cars ever (yeah, yeah) , I can buy into the theory that they are NOT going to be the next 2.7 RS even with a thousand miles on it..

I don't think any future RS deliveries will have a manual gearbox, only the regular GT3 (if optioned, PDK is standard).

thanks - so there arent any gt3 RS with a manual then ?

If the next generation have a manual - that'll surely affect values..

And another thing... laugh If dealers are advertising the price as "on request" that has to mean only one thing....

Looks get value compared to a normal 991.2 gt3

These 991.1 gt3 rs cars seem to be dropping on a monthly bases.

At this price trade bids must be around £150k to £155k

Its got steels which might explain why its a bit cheaper - not an issue for me, as the steels are great but everyone seems to want PCCB's on the RS apparently...

I personally prefer steels and in years to come I think many others will.

Huge spread on these cars, massively mileage sensitive by the looks. If your looking for a car to use and put mikes on you need to be very careful what you buy.

If these keep failing they will be excellent value.

Great looking car

Yes ..... only things I specced on my new RS ,is steel brakes and aluminium pedals ...... built for use . simple . Ceramics are great on the Kings road but that is a mile south of me ...and put on 1,800 miles in the last few weeks ..... also hit the rev limiter ...... oops silly me ... worth nothing now

What a great looking car. I've seen it in the flesh previously at OPC Cardiff and I believe JZM had it up for sale a few months ago at £185/6k. I assume it sold then and came back into stock?

If this is the ultra violet car which was in OPC Cardiff last year it was up for 200k plus, I’ve seen it in the flesh and it looked great. It had slightly lower miles then.
