I collected my new toy from Porsche Colchester on Saturday and I couldn't be happier!
I took delivery on the same day as Archie Hamilton did his, I believe...
The last GT3RS I owned (a 997.1 in fabulous Black & Orange) was back in 2007, and I can't believe it has taken me this long to get back in one...well, I can, it's called sky-high residuals!
So, a little about this car:
- January 2016 registration
- 2 previous owners
- 7,850 miles
Options:
- Ultra Violet exterior paint
- Houndstooth interior
- Clubsport package (half roll cage, six-point harnesses and fire extinguisher)
- Carbon ceramic brakes
- LED headlights
- PCM (Porsche Communication Management)
- Sport Chrono package
- Front axle lifting system
- Porsche Track Precision App
- Full PPF (paint protection film)
- Purchase price £165,000
The next few weeks will bring a trip to Topaz in London for a full detail then it's off to Le Mans for the 24hr Test Day on the first weekend of June.
I can't wait!
The only colour to have, beautiful and to think these were 200k last year. I took delivery on the same day as Archie Hamilton did his, I believe...

I agree Cheib that the 991.1GT3 RS in UV is the only colour to get..Really nice car that and i'd love one in that colour if i didn't have a new RS coming soon..
Come on Taffy - that’s not exactly true is it But UV is mega and congrats to barronbennyt on your new purchase - when are you taking it to the Ring?[quote=terryb]

I'm off to the Ring with Destination Nurburgring on their double-header later this year, 30th September and 1st October. Then Spa with Circuit Days on 2nd October. It promises to be epic (weather permitting)!

With every respect my dear Terence i was only referring to the standard palette of colours;)..You managed to bag a PTS you jammy sod..and its looks awesome in that blue.I'm slightly apprehensive of the upkeep of my forthcoming flat black RS WP..So much so, i've been configuring a Miami with Plat Mag rims which work well with the Carbon and this coming from somebody who hates Miami on normal Porsches..

I have to admit that UV is an amazing colour too - and great to see that it didn’t become a regular colour on future models, unlike lava and lizard. Must be an L thing??
But - DO NOT GO FOR MIAMI - it looks Mexico in bright sunlight, but it has a very green tint in all other lights - which is 90% of the time in the UK.
In terms of protection for the black paint - I would get a full PPF and then ceramic coated on top - it will make it much easier to keep clean and protected from swirl marks - and given the value of the car, if you plan on keeping it for a while, then I would definitely go for a full PPF

This ones been up for ever at 200k interestingly they have just dropped the price by 14k
Clearly they had very little margin in the car at 200k 🤣

I love Ultraviolet, and I don't think the pictures above really do it justice, but this blue is just gorgeous! Is it riviera, mexico or something else?I had a close look at the White GT3RS in OPC Wilmslow last weekend before I bought my GT3. It was a phenomenal looking machine (not as good looking as this I have to admit) and my wife was encouraging me to splash out, but as I am not a track god like you guys that extra bit of performance would have been wasted on me, and the £50k extra felt a bit hard to justify as a result.

That’s my old car - I specced it with some assistance from Exclusive in Germany and was the first owner. I also know the second owner as it happens.
Enjoy!
