Yes the new 911 always better than the old one. Not always the better experience but always the better car for sure.
I had a good look around when Porsche said no to me on GT3 at double the price point. 720s, 488 don't hold a candle to it in my view. I think a Speciale as fun weekend car is where my money will now go but look I have to spend almost 3x the amount for a similar experience.
Walking into McLaren Hatfield I found the staff and experience fabulous but 570s and 720s both didn't do anything for me. They go well but the engine nt even with sports exhaust is shockingly uninspiring.
Walked into my local Ferrari dealer and the only car they can offer you is a 488 GTB or Spyder. Pista and 812 order book closed hence old 997 GT3 RS or 458 Speciale a good shout at the mo.
After my 991.1 GT3 the Speciale was the only car I considers. And I did not regret it one bit except for the slightly higher caution you need to exercise with such exotica. But I used it everywhere in Europe, tracked it and loved it. Adored it. Do it you won’t regret it. I did sell it though as was a bit too much for a 2 car garage and now I am awaiting for my GT3T. Let’s see. But I suspect Speciale will remain the best car I will ever have owned.

Just to say i really don't think the 991 feels rear engined but not driven one with PSM off yet. New RSR coming soon. Only 25 of them. First mid engined 911 road car. Can you imagine the fuss for those
Also a Speedster R on the way which is basically a GT3 RS without the roof this time round.
That's why I bought the plate RS18 RSR - just in case Also a Speedster R on the way which is basically a GT3 RS without the roof this time round.

The new cars with rear wheel steer will never ever feel like the older cars, rear steer is makeing all the differance re understeer etc, sadly.Have you seen how much the rear wheels steer, its a lot in wheel geo terms. Also a Speedster R on the way which is basically a GT3 RS without the roof this time round.
The new rsr is out with customers already and heavy testing and set ups etc,not 25 cars this year,i have seen one in a 100 peices, its a clever bit of engineering mixed with some very basic enginering, its basicaly the rear half of a cayman welded to a 991 front end,and no rear wheel steer!

No ill intent, you regularly come out with some twoddle and now with your low ball replies ,maybe thats because I dont treat you like my hero ,you clearly Have limited knowledge about porsche and its history, but you have since become a PH expert which you should be proud of,enjoy your prestige and how dare i call you a fool or idiot, that would be getting to your level.Any way moving onto the rsr, having seen it and only 8 cars are being made this year, all sold only to race teams who are campaigning in races,at a cost of over 1 mill euros plus the spares package on top for each car, they are not homologated for the road and never can be with the cage arrangement which is crucial to the lay out and structure of the car,as it is half cayman body shell layout at the rear with the cage going right down to behind the rear wheels.
I was hoping they would bring out a homolgation special mid engine rs road car also for the rsr to compete ,however this has not happened because of rule changes, they dont need to build 500 cars or so.
So not sure what opc knows any different, or there has been a new anouncment since i was in germany last month.
Would like to know more on this, but i doubt its happening.

CMoose why do you let people draw you in like this? It's their entertainment can't you see? This thread started so well with an interesting well written piece. I mean, of course I'm not surprised that the new GT3 didn't impress you, it was probably a waste of time driving it really but it was interesting seeing you find some fault with this rare dream car & masterpiece of engineering (that old classic, the brake pedal strikes again!), in an earnest and constructive style and loads of people enjoyed reading it as they commentedAnyway just rise above the idiots and be the bigger man. Laugh it off with good candour and a brisk 'whatever' Just trying to help.

As said before,no intent, just lowering yourself I have just looked back through this thread, your replies to r started spoiling the thread and you are loosing any credability you may of had.
You are also wrong about a long travel soft peddle,r is correct it will give you better modulation, especialy on early cars.
The gt1 is a nice 911!

You're thinking of the race car. There is a road version due in your local OPC soon. 25 UK cars I believe so less than one per showroom. No doubt usual suspects will get them and they'll be flipped or sitting in garages gathering dust rosino said:

Looked at the market and its the only car looking like reasonable money as a nice thing to own over a long period of time. Sat in the 720s/488 with the other half and they're both about numbers. The driving experience has been put further down the list of KPIs I did sell it though as was a bit too much for a 2 car garage and now I am awaiting for my GT3T. Let’s see. I struggle with all three brands now, you can't buy a new 755 LT without going for a 720s and even this doesn't guarantee you a 755. Same with Pista, 812 , GT3, GT3 Rs, GT2 RS, RSR, Speedster R.
All a bit ridiculous. Cant even see why we bother road testing them any more in the press. One for you Cmoose?!

It's the weekend too, and maybe a chance to get out and enjoy our GT3s. I'm still getting to know mine so with Cmooses original test comments in mind I'm going for a drive!
I'm also looking forward to 'R's full warts and all road test analysis, can't be long now hopefully browngt3 said:
I for one find it sad that a good thread has degenerated. It's always the same few isn't it? Don't mind a few slightly heated exchanges but let's not get personal about stuff. We're all Porsche enthusiasts so let's get on with celebrating and debating these fantastic cars...
Unfortunately its the same on every forum nowadays. I mentioned on 911UK I was ordering a new 911 for the other half and some horrible scroat acne infested keyboard warrior called me out on it lol! I think you just have to ignore the negativity and skim over it. Shame as reviews like Cmoose's are far more insightful than anything from EVO, TopGear, Auto Express, Autocar, Car Magazine etc produce. The alternative are the youthtubers bruv Edited to say and they actually stalk you over the internet
