Got my 991T arriving next month and I've asked the dealer to not drill the front bumper as I'm thinking of getting a stick-on plate instead. Anyone else done this and what size plate did you go for?

TIA

Yep did the same on my 911GTS picked up last weekend.

I ordered one just like the eBay link, it’s full size, reflective with the correct spacing and fitted and looks great, I have the usual plinth and standard plate as well.

I now understand it should have the BS EN code on to be fully legal but I am going to see if it attracts any attention before changing.

I understand Highgate do them with the correct code on them so if I were doing it again I would probably go there just for peace of mind.

From Rick @ Highgate House

These were my options with the dealer details on and the BS number that is required by law as far as I am aware.

I have gone for the smallest one at the top but all 3 are legal just with smaller surrounds to the letters.

I’ve seen this trend but don’t really get it for anything other than cars that cannot bear a normal plinth and plate, due to front bumper design - Why do this? Cheers

in my case the plinth was not following the bumper well and looked shoddy.
Had the coupe of screw holes filled & painted, stick on plate looks much better.
Wont fall off either...

Interesting, pick mine up from Wolverhampton in a month, I even think that’s my sales person walking in the background. They were fine with this then were they, did you just supply and they fitted?
Got a front on shot by any chance please?

I've a stick-on plate on my 996, standard font & spacing but scaled to 75% of normal size. Had it like that for about six years, never been pulled.

A regular acrylic plate goes on for a couple of hours at MOT time, then comes straight off again smile

I purchased my self adhesive number-plate from DMB Graphics Ltd. Over a year later still looking good.

I too did not want any holes being made in the bumper.

I saw this one today at the BTCC media/open day at Donington. I wonder who owns this. :-)

I’d suggest waiting until he turns up and introduce yourself, make sure you shake his hand properly mind. He likes that.

Erm maybe his reputation precedes him but I don’t think I would try that. Beautiful car and he can’t half drive but I’m not a big fan of him personally. My misses got to speak to rob collard, Adrian Moffat, Dan cammish and a few others, Plato was most certainly not one making themselves approachable.

Normal number plate has benefits here in London ...... Chelsea tractors can park by touch on them without damaging the bumper

I've had a few from DMB and their quality is first rate. However, Dave has made things a little more awkward by now insisting that you send in your V5 etc which is a bit of a nuisance. Also, he'll no longer make anything but standard sized plates.
