Seats, dials, staying OEM and the year 1998
Discussion
I have a 1998 996, it's got the Porsche/Momo wheel in order to get it close enough to me, but this has introduced a new problem - the Porsche/Momo wheel is smaller than the stock one, and now I can't see the top of the dials.
The car is currently with the trimmers and they're going to try to reduce the height of the hard-back sports seat cushions.
I hope that this works - but I'm wondering what to do if it does not.
The GT3 buckets would get me lower - but I don't believe that they were available to order when my car was sold.
I suspect that if a buyer wanted to get lower than the sports seats allowed, in early 1998, then an OPC would have had to reach for the 993 pricebook and specify those - can anyone shed any light on this?

Ok, here's what I think.
I think these are 964 RS seats:
And I think that these are 964 Speedster and 993 RS seats:
Which would seem to indicate that Recaro changed the design of the Profischale P1 from nine radial ribs to 5 radial ribs in the mid-nineties.
The earlier 9 rib shells are available, the later 5 rib shells are not.
Therefore the can-buy-now-from-FRD Profi SPG is as good as anything, given that the actual Porsche Recaro of 1998 would be (I reckon) the 5 rib shell, which I can't get anyway.
If I am wrong please do say.

The OPC I had been ordering parts from employed a new person who a) insists I read them my VIN before we discuss anything and then b) says that VIN is invalid, and therefore he can't sell me anything so c) I don't spend any money with them anymore.
It's code XSU, takes 10mm off the seat base and seat back apparently - I need to get around 30mm lower in the car.
968CS and 993RS (plus 964 Speedster) are going to be the five spoke shells, I have discovered, so that's what I need.

You might be able to get the correct part number from here: https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/p...It's code XSU, takes 10mm off the seat base and seat back apparently - I need to get around 30mm lower in the car.

Just pick the car and model year and download the PDF.
