I've just had an update from my dealer (Dick Lovett at Swindon, very impressed with their service) and apparently the official fix has been announced by Porsche. I was due to pick my GT3 up on Saturday morning (21st) and it seems that can go ahead despite the car only returning from Topaz on Friday.
It looks as if the fix will be software initially, with perhaps a hardware recall at a later date, but I'm sure huge relief to all of us due to pick up a car in the near future
The short term fix is to disconnect it !It looks as if the fix will be software initially, with perhaps a hardware recall at a later date, but I'm sure huge relief to all of us due to pick up a car in the near future

Is that fact or assumption? My dealer told me it was due to a specific frequency Porsche were operating on, also used by government (read into that what you will). So it maybe a simple software update... if the hardware allows the change obvs.

It's what I've been told, unit will be disconnected and if possible sent back to Germany and then a re call when they have a fix for it.My dealer told me it was due to a specific frequency Porsche were operating on, also used by government (read into that what you will). Anyone get any more on this...... Friend awaiting to pick up his new car and it’s gone a bit quiet for him..?
I got a call yesterday - As mentioned above, the temporary fix is to disconnect the mobile phone repeater with a more permanent fix to come. I'll be collecting my car on Monday now.Things are moving again but there may be a slight knock on effect as they clear the backlog I would guess
I was told my Macan S was ready to go on Wednesday. I turned up at the dealer showroom to pick it up.
But no, its there and i can gloat over it, but it stays where it is for now.
Mobile repeater issue and Porsche has to “sign it off” before I can drive it away. Got an email yesterday from the dealer saying theres a fix and I should be able to collect it today. Nope, not done yet. (I had to chase up as no call from them)
Expecting tomorrow morning or (meh) next week now.
Having been able to sit in my new car and start it up but not drive it off is absolutely crazy.
I suppose I've already waited so long a few more days wont be too bad, but what I can’t understand is how Porsche let this happen, they knew about this apparently in good time to sort it out before the new cars left the factory.
Dented bank balance, no car. Top banana. First world problems eh!

Picked my GTS up yesterday - and yes, booster has been disconnected. It will have to go in for the solution but OPC unsure at this stage as to what that will be or whether it will be done while I wait or take longer. I’ll post here when I know more.Ollie1977 said:
Blimey! That wasn’t the answer I was expecting . So without it, does it make features of the car redundant?
Picked my car up today and everything still seemed to work OK but my mobile signal didn't seem very strong...not sure if it was the car or the area I was in thoughI popped into Porsche on Thursday (this is when I was supposed to collect my 718) but unfortunately it was for a hire car because my car hand been fixed but due to the space in garage my detailed wasn’t allowed on site. They told me they had a software update to disable the mobile booster. No biggie. Collect on Friday...finally.
Porsche Wolves handled things really well, but they must have had about 80 new cars on there forecourt last week!
