Hi guys

Looking for an appraisal of this car I’ve just put a deposit down on - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

I’ve been looking for a manual gen 2 C2S for a while and Ashgood have a nice example. Good mileage/competitive price etc and they’ve agreed to put the car through its 111 check once the warranty expires and deal with any issues so I just pay for the Porsche warranty. Only concern is the slightly delayed services. 2.5 years for service 1-2 and 2 month delay between 3 and 4. I’ve called my local OPC who say no worries provided they do a service before the warranty but Ashgood have agreed to pay for 111 at their local OPC and pay for anything it throws up and I just pay for the warranty.

How do you think these slight discrepancies will affect selling on and generally how good a buy do you think it is? Cheers

I hope this helps, I bought a 997.2 Carrera from RPMTechnik 18 months ago, mine had higher mileage (60k) and I paid late 30s for mine, I think that this a good car but too expensive, all IMHO of course, it'll be interesting to see if others agree. Personally I don't think the slight gap in between services is a massive issue tbh. Its a good car without doubt but I still feel its too much money.

The aqua blue Manual S looks stunning. Nice low miles.

Actually looks good value compared to a car with 60k miles in high 30s and rare Manual.

Don’t think you can really compare a car with 60k plus miles to a 20k odd mile car. Different buyers.

Looks like a lovely car, I've been looking for a 997.2 manual for a little while but they're few and far between at the moment within my budget.

Looks very nice and a good price.
Just needs a sport design steering wheel to finish off the interior as looks a bit fresher than the early gen2 one.
I think their sea blue means ocean blue.

Thanks for replies all. The same car with an OPC would undoubtably be around £50k so I think it’s pretty well priced. Agree on the steering wheel, my previous Cayman S had the updated wheel and it was lovely. I really wasn’t sure whether to go for PDK or manual as PDK are commanding slightly higher prices at the moment but having driven one I think the first PDK’s are great but not quite there. The up shifts aren’t as crisp as on the 991 and in 997 guise I think the manual is more engaging and as it’ll be a weekend car the PDK just didn’t feel the same. Do you guys think the PDK will still command a premium in a few years or the manuals will overtake due to rarity and the fact that everything is going PDK?

I think manuals will be worth a lot more than PDK in year to come.

Looks bang on the money to me....I paid £40k for a highly specced 2011 low miles Carrera (PASM, PSE, Nav, plus loads more) 18 months ago and prices have held firm, so +£5k for the 'S' is exactly where it should be at a non franchised dealer.

I went manual also, don't regret it at all, for me it just adds so much to the driving experience.

And the Aqua Blue looks great, I get loads of compliments on the car and it's just different from all the more normal colours.

They're brilliant cars, a real sweet spot in the Porsche range from the last 20 years.

I'd get it bought asap and enjoy it! thumbup

Perhaps but in 40y time how many people will know how to drive stick driving itself will be the novelty stick will just be a bit much for most

Many of is grew up in an era of manual sports cars and even so a lot of us are shifting to pdk i cant imagine a lot of people who didnt learn on stick wanting a manual

Hmm. Not too bothered about the gaps between services from a mileage perspective however, it'd be good to tally the service record with the MOT History to ensure that the owner wasn't skimping on non-service-but-stuff-that-really-needed-doing items. For my money I really can't see the point in not having the oil and filter changed every year regardless of schedule. Just because a car isn't being used, doesn't mean the oils retaining the properties it needs to look after the thing when it's running...
