Just interested to hear if anybody is experiencing delays and what the reasons given for these are?

My car has slipped twice by at least 8 weeks from 19 Mar to 23 May, was originally the Ti cage and now it seems a combination of that and the Cxx options.

Not looking to kick off a first world problems kind of thread, just looking to pool information from other folks to see if there is a common picture. There are lots of rumours so maybe we can between us try and work out what is going on.

I read Weissach Pack cars are delayed due to delays in obtaining magnesium wheels from the supplier. Take up of WP has exceeded Porsche's expectations on both the GT2 and GT3 RS models.

I wouldn't worry about it Andrew at least you're one of the lucky few who's getting one. I'm looking forward to a review from someone that didn't rate the Speciale

I struggle with some of the newer cars today. Took an F12 for a spin and 720s and tbh both a bit flat. I'm going to try a Speciale soon.

Thats an easy fix just supply on other wheels then give mag wheels later maybe?

They could do, but I don't believe they are.

Thanks. I'm not worried, and I have heard a lot about mag wheels or Ti cage or whatever. I'm just trying to see what other people are being told.

I'm sure the car will be mega.

I liked the Speciale. I cancelled my order because I was asked to pay extra for an early pre shutdown car, which I did. Then I was told my expensively-optioned car, which supposedly went into build in May, had mysteriously slipped to later in the year.

Ah okay. Otherwise would have one in your garage? Thought you felt it was slightly soft/rolled/understeered on road?

Mine was delayed for over a month, with very little definitive information despite asking many times.
Some band width issue, no mag wheels, no Titanium cages, no steering wheels ........
When it did turn up, it had wheels and a cage, but no carbon steering wheel I believe.
Did anyone get a GT2RS helmet bag?
Not sure if it’s AG not passing on news, or GB, or the dealer.
Don’t worry it will come (probably when you don’t expect it) and will be worth the wait.

Think you’ll struggle identifying a pattern Andrew…I know a few people with various levels of options etc that have had delays, and others that haven’t.
Also know of two dealers where their last expected car turned up first!

Ti cages were an issue, and Mg wheels, some carbon parts (eg dash), and definitely backlog at CXX.
I think it depends on what mix you have and when all the bits arrive to let them complete and then release that specific car.

Thanks chaps.

The supply chain is clearly complex but the lack of information isn't helpful. I think PAG delegates the choice of how much information is shared with the local importer, in this case PCGB. My CGT is at Reading for its major service, so when I go see it in bits for a geek-out, I'll be sure to see if I can have a moment with Alexander Pollich.

I've seen photos of the helmet bag which looks cool but not heard of any UK customers getting one?

Can't wait for the car! How are yours?

My OPC has had a GT2 RS through with WP that came on the standard wheels...owner has been told his magnesium wheels will be sent through later in the year. Sensible solution to deliver the car so owner gets to enjoy it.

I don’t really understand how Porsche can take WP orders when the wheel supplier can’t meet demand! Surely they must have known what volumes the supplier could meet?!?!

I read Porsche expected 50% to order WP but it has turned out to be 90%.

For reference, my 3RS was showing a 1 month delay last week and was due to finish at factory 3rd June. Today it is showing at Emden and more or less back on track to my original dates.

They seem to be getting a bit of a backlog there and have a lot of GT cars to build. In hindsight i'm glad I took the 3RS when I did and didn't hold out for a WP car and a gamble on a second batch of cars. If they are still building 2RS's and this batch of 3RS's into Q3 I cant see them having the time to build more batches of 3RS

Imo,,, they will meet demand as much as they can. Its all about making cars to make money..Even with the GT's.

Yes think the WP has been headache and the second batch .......... when all new orders for 3 will be WP again , especially as they will be building the US models than ... may be a bit difficult .But having waited for a good few years to buy another GT product , I really hope they can make more for others who would like a car ...
