Where do you people drive your classics ?
I have a few local roads South Yorks/ Derbys/Peaks area that I like to stretch it legs on but other than that the odd blast to North Wales and a few small local car shows its just aimlessly driving around.

Suggestions on where to go and any classic tours/drive outs would be most welcome .

I don't drive mine as much as I should, mainly because until recently I was a bit busy with a restoration. But I do intend to get them about a bit more this year - I like taking photos of them in nice places, so that's the kind of thing I'm aiming for.

You could perhaps join a local club - rather than one for your particular make of car - that might organise some runs out. There are plenty of "paid" tours advertised if an organised trip is more your thing.

It may not be practical for everyone but I almost exclusively want to drive mine on continental Europe ,after all it is LHD.

I can't be arsed with UK roads.

Apart from sunny day special excursions, I use mine to do everyday stuff as much as possible. Trips to Halfords, B&Q, the local supermarket, even the local tip provide an excuse to use them. Though the presence of my Gordon-Keeble at the local tip does cause a bit of a stir!

I use mine for general day-to-day stuff too (including the tip!). I try to use it as often as possible, as I think frequent use keeps it all ticking over well.

Other than that we go to the beach in it and picnics with the kids.

Tomorrow we are off down to Devon (near Lyme Regis) to test the engine up some hills and then late July over to Vendee, France to stretch her legs a little further. I have just installed some sound insulation to make sure we are not deaf on arrival too.....

I mainly take a trip out at night, past the local clubs, to give young fillies the ride of their lives.

Not really.

Here are some tours in your area, e.g.:

Check the classic run calendar link for others.

Sadly there are no 'DRIVERS' TYPE CLUBS for classic OR SPORTS CARS that I know of IN S Wales, If you drive your car as intended then you are welcome to join me - I frequent S - N wales, most days I do 150-300 miles.
If you like 30mph Morris Minor type cruises then most Classic car clubs in S wales organise maybe 0ne of this type of event each year.
Why not just Go drive your car yourself - you may encounter another similar driver en routesmile
AT the end of the day cars are meant to be driven Not just parked and polished for the sad Classic cars shows which most classic owners attend like sheep

In parts of Oxon etc you can drive a 60s, 70s, 80s car and pretend you are in the decade of origin. Turn off the radio and the phone, and squint at modern road signs. Undo the seat belt. Smoke.*

The time travel works especially well at night on unlit roads.

*Rothmans, obvs. But do not drink fifteen Double Diamonds and three Chivas Regals before getting in the yarmouth.

I am looking at a motorbike here tomorrow. Similarly insane caper. I have just bought a highly ridiculous car from a local police officer. The bike is also being sold by a police officer. I am taking this as an omen.
