Just fitting new dampers to my 996. Currently on the front and doing the rack pipes as well as all metal / flexi brake pipes whilst its in bits.

I've noticed that the inner wing has some 25mm ish sized holes which are open. I can see one on the drivers side (UK car) and 2 on the passenger side. One each side is directly behind the strut, the third one is level with it but a few inches rearwards.

Can anyone have a peep to see if you have similar or whether they are bunged up?

Cheers

Ian

Are these behind the wheel-arch liners? If so, they're probably fine.

Sorry, cannot find anything in my "101 Projects..." book about this and I'd need to jack up/take wheels off mine to see.

Have you tried the 911uk.com 996 forum? There's a few technicians on there that may have cars on ramps, to compare to.

The battery tray/bulkhead drains? The holes behind the struts near the ABS looms are there to pass any water run-off .

I’ve seen those holes too, no grommets, I assume they are drain holes

Thanks - I wont bung them up!!

I can actually see the rubber bulkhead drains through one of them so they are lower than the bulkhead where the battery sits.
