Paddle steamer being towed across the Irish sea to a new home
until
50 metres deep - worth a salvage operation?

Boat and tug had to be assisted out of Sharpness by the local lifeboat too. Doesn't seem a great start.

I don't know any more than that, but as an outside observer, the involvement of the lifeboat as opposed to another commercial vessel suggests that it was somewhat unplanned.
SARA is a volunteer/commercial organisation so may have been 'commissioned' to provide assistance.Steve
