That's sad - one of my favourite astronauts. All of the Apollo 12 crew is now gone.

Oh dear, and only 4 days after Eric posted him as one of the survivors frown

I suppose that one day there will no-one alive who's driven a car.

Only three lunar car drivers left - Dave Scott, Charlie Duke and Harrison Schmitt.

A fitting memorial to Mr Bean (although also sitting on the site is the TV camera he wrecked).

Like that bit From Earth to the Moon where he whacked it with a hammer, in for a penny in for a pound. That was a good episode.

The Apollo 12 crew was the most joyous Apollo crew. They laughed and whooped it up all the way to the moon and back - whilst dealing with some serious issues with a calm and professional manner.

Audio is further up. Calm or what. Lightening strike for those that know not.

The idea of an astronaut called Mr Bean smacking a misbehaving camera with a hammer is not altogether unbelievable.

That was due to set SCE to AUX

I posted in another thread this article
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44270528

As you read through it do you find it odd that rather than using their first name eg Buzz they're using the formal Mr. Aldrin?
it seems a strange style of writing to me, almost the style you get when writing to your local planning dept!

To be fair, he is referred to as Buzz as well.

Very sad. Only four remaining now and they're all so very old. I do wish we could see and hear more from them on TV while we have the chance.

That's a decent image, the slider underneath the image altering the angle of the sun casts shadows of the lunar landing module so you can use the shadow to make out the projections on the top of the vehicle.
