Nope, it's a £336 option.
Nav became standard with the 718 and 991.2, but not DAB.
It’s standard on all 991.2 911s except the T and GT3 (its even standard on the GT3RS and GT2RS...)Nav became standard with the 718 and 991.2, but not DAB.
So strange you get it on a bog standard Carrera, but not the gt3. Can’t be a weight saving thing as it’s standard on the 3RS

I don't know if it can be retrofitted, but you could use a dab app via the Apple or Android Carplay, assuming you spec'd it, I think it's standard in 991.2's, I use Tune-In because DAB coverage is not very good where I live.
I'm in the Midlands and in both my 981 and wife's BMW X1 DAB often cuts out. Can't see the point of it!franki68 said:
odd question,if you bought the car new then why not spec it ? If you bought used there is so much stock there is no reason not to find one with DAB??
FWIW, the OP bought the car from another PHer - by-passing the dealer's margin - the weekend before last.As for Porsche's attitudes to ICE, I find them baffling. I can fully understand a full delete - weight saving, purity etc. etc. - but otherwise, there is, in the 21st century, a de-minimis spec for ICE which people expect from just about any car, let alone one over £100k:
- DAB
- Nav
- Bluetooth handsfree
- USB input
It therefore baffles me even more that the Porsche world get the knickers in such a twist over retro-fitted ICE units, especially in 996 and 997 cars with virtually useless units.
Digga, ,I threw caution to the wind and installed a Kenwood nav system into my 997.1 GT3.
It gives me:
It gives me:
- Bluetooth phone connection so I can avoid licence penalty points
- Speed camera alerts so I can avoid penalty points
- A proper up-to-date postcode navigation system so I can avoid getting lost
- Auxiliary USB input so I can connect my iPod
- SD card input so I can carry loads of podcasts for long autoroute journeys
