Happy to do so if you are around.
Dont underestimate a 991.2 GTS, in my opinion its the sweet spot of the 991.2 Line up as an all-round package.

I bet you were hiding in the pit garage in case anyone got to near to it - I remember poor Graham with the GT2 door on the tunnel ;-0

Happy days mate, they are indeed for driving, shopping, tracking whatever, I've even cut grass with the GT at Goodwood.

hand on heart I genuinely think the 991.2 GTS (all flavours) is the best vfm 991. Dare I say it - I prefer it to the GT3! Best all round modern 911 I've ever driven.

Haven't driven a 991.2 GTS but we took my buddy's 991.1GTS to Spa and the 'Ring and it was fantastic, the n/a engine was a pleasure.

Still not sure about the PDK gearbox, just a little bit too good for me-as daft as that sounds.

Are you doing the DSC map updates yourself or are you using someone?
Myself at the moment. A friend has shared a stiffer map he worked on previously with a suspension specialist which I was going to switch for the 'sport' map and retain the current sport map as the 'normal' map.

It's taken me long enough to actually connect to the controller unit. Previously I had a few connection errors in the pitlane and then gave up.

Buck stops with the PH mods, they sit by far too much while often one individual is the root cause of 95% arguements for several years in forums.
The prolific posters however whom I'm sure we can all name (each sub-forum has it's own) seem to be able to skirt around the ban hammer for whatever reason. A shame.
Irony at its finest. Have you seen your own post count? The lack of self awareness here is hilarious.

PDK is best 90% of the time. For that occasional spirited drive I admit a (good) manual is better. I think for me I'll always stick to PDK now simply because it suits the kind of driving I do. The PDK box in the latest turbo GTS is even better IMO. As for the 991 GTS - it's more night and day to how the first (997) GTS was. The 997 was a slightly better C2S, whereas the 991 feels like a different model - as it's meant to be. Unless you're taking the car on track, or driving like a knob on the road, then there is no better all round package than the GTS. I would like to say the 991T is all the car you'd ever need, but for the money the GTS offers so much more in terms of performance, styling, and desirability for not a lot more dosh. And when you get the chance to drive the 991.2 GTS (PDK) you'll be blown away by how quick it is! Sounds good too - a little bit like the old air-cooled stuff.

For daily road use I would take a .2 GTS with PDK all the time. For me its the Torque on the 3.0 engine that makes it such a great Dailey car. I have had a couple of .2 Targa 4GTS as Dailey cars, ones now done 12k. Have to say as an all round package its the best daily driver I have ever owned.Though for fun on track the way the GT3.2PDK goes about things is very special.

I had a 991,2 GTS PDK coupe and if fitted with RAS the best all round car i've ever owned, and thats including my 991.2 GT3..Its quicker across country than the GT3 due to the available torque at all revs.
On a track however, the GTS falls short if driven at 100% as the standard steel brakes and Pirelli P zero tyres aren't good enough. The perfect GTS IMO would need PCCBs, folding buckets and either Michelins or Dunlops Maxx Race N!s, then you'd have the perfect car..

Absolutely there are still a few enthusiasts floating about, but a lot of those I know and do the odd track day don't bother posting much on forums any more for the reasons summed up above. I still post very occasionally, but the threads always seem to get ugly and you seldom get any sort of positive response when you do make the effort to share your knowledge/experience.

Also a few of my past 964 RS owning mates when across to GT4's when their cars became too precious/valuable to nail on the track. I guess the GT4 has become a more accessible car for track use, than the GT3/RS as they have increased in price and size.
The PCGB 964RS forum seems to have migrated to a closed group on Facebook and includes more non-UK posters and non club members than the old forum did

My wife has a 991.2 RWD , GTS and I have to say I’ve very reluctantly warmed to it. As a daily, it’s absolutly fantastic and it’s bloody quick , handles really nicely & it really is a very pretty 911 - rightly or wrongly, I still struggle to see it as a 911 though, I just think it’s a brilliant , super luxury grand tourer ; I really like it & I really didn’t want to ; I was very upset and angry with Porsche about the move to Turbo (I know this isn’t their fault) and vowed never, ever to drive it however , I seem to be accidentally driving it more and more - so I have to eat humble pie and say I was wrong. (It does sound pants though !)

It’s the perfect foil to my manual 991.2 GT3.

Really liking this thread & agree it’s up to all of us to make PH a better place as it has really gone to rat poop - I hardly ever post anymore as every topic is the same - it’s just so dull and repetitive.

Love the comment about tracking or polishing being equally as worthy . I really agree with this ethos - basically we should all embrace whatever it is we love about Porsche’s - no right or wrong here .

More pics and driving stories please.

Happy motoring smile

I might be in the minority but I genuinely thought the 991.2 GTS sounded good. Very good - almost a hint of air-cooled to it. When the 991.2 was first launched I borrowed a C2S for a day whilst my Cayenne was in for warranty work. It was disappointing and I was sure Porsche had properly fked up the 911 - fast it was, but dull it was too. We were spoiled with the 997 - bloody fantastic 911 - all variants. Since the introduction of the 3.0 turbo in the 991.2 Porsche have had a few years to tune the engine / drivetrain / zorst etc, and what they have done with the GTS is (IMO) create one of the best (all-round) modern 911s. The 991.2 also (again IMO) has the best interior - would prefer the size and compactness of the 997, but for quality I think Porsche shoots well above it's weight in this area. You've only got to look at the competition to realise most £100k cars still have build quality issues with components / switches / materials etc which feel like they are out of a £20k car!

eta - just got passed by a LO 991.1 GT3 RS (with private plate) heading North (towards Newark) on the A46 in the rain. Such massive road presence. Looked fooookin lovely smokin. Anyone on here?

Re the polishing vs driving comment...

Just found out a good mate has won a Porsche national trophy for his cleaning skills-presented by Herr Bell no less!

He’s as big an enthusiast as I am-maybe even bigger.

We both get our kicks in different ways but I’m glad that side of the hobby exists-his and another mate’s car are amazing (they do these Porsche show and shine events together), it wouldn’t be for me but I’m glad people like they exist as it’s all part of the same world.

(They think how I treat cars as crazy as I think theirs!)

Polishing vs driving could be a good subject for another thread.

I like both and wish I had more time for both!

After a long weekend away or just an epic drive it's really great to spend all day cleaning and polishing the car. Strengthens the bond between car and driver even more.

Agree the interior is lovely (esp with GTS pack - swimming in Alcantara - lovely) I just can’t really hear ours in the cabin even with SE on - I thought the 997.2 GTS sounded so much nicer - lovely sounding car that.
Re LO RS - that was what I had (not anymore) it did look the bomb smile
