I am waiting to purchase a GT3 for a number of reasons.
Principle..........I’m not paying more than RRP for any car.
Logic.........historically all GT3s have depreciated.......the norm WILL return (looking like sooner rather than later)
Thirdly, My current car (997 GTS - which I track, take on drift days) is probably a bettter road car anyway......(I just want the extra couple 1000 rpm to add to the experience)
Combining all of the above.........I also have more sense than money :-)
Those of us that paid moderate overs on a GT car had enough sense to realize that:Principle..........I’m not paying more than RRP for any car.

a) Getting back to RRP for a GT Porsche is a long way off. And what would be the point of waiting to pay the equivalent of RRP on a car that might be 3 or more years old.
b) We had saved tens of thousands of pounds that we would have lost in depreciation by not having to buy run of the mill Porsches that we did not want just to get on the OPC ladder for a new GT car.
c) The depreciation that we will suffer on our GT Porsche by paying overs will be a lot less than the depreciation we would suffer on a new run of the mill Porsche bought at RRP.

Good luck with your search but you will be waiting quite some time.Good spec 4year old+ 991.1 GT3s still command otr list. Despite the engine issues too.
I won't even mention the 997 GT3RS.....

Given the drop in sterling due to the referendum, and the potential for it to drop a bit more due to Brexit (sorry to bring it up), a further upward revision of new prices is not unlikely. This in and of itself affects the prices of used stuff accordingly.
Of course, on the downside, taxation (cars and fuel) and other regulatory/environmental changes may have effects on the downside, but they remain to be seen.
im with the dappad guy!
i know for fact that a couple of decent non CS gen 1 gt3 have been sold for below 70k because i passed on them at that level within the past 2 months
i also know that i prefer a CS yet prices seem stubborn and the owners that may be sellers are holding out and can afford to for us long as they choose
dealer bids on gen 1s are still quite strong which keeps them away from the prying hands of the private enthusiast so the chances of me bagging a deal are quite slim short term but i dont believe prices are firming and there will be someone out there who might prize speed over the last cent and thats where ill gladly help out

ne of the things people often forget is the huge price inflation on all new cars after the GFC.

Exactly, Digga. Will be interesting to see what they ask for the 992 GT3. My guess it will be at least 10% more than the 991.2 so a base price around £123k. If the Pound remains weak vs the Euro then surely this will inflate the asking price. Well to anyone saying that there are not selling I bought my .2 GT3 off market and they sold my .1 GT3 in a week at strong money!!!
Yes Juno this is the reality as opposed to PH internet dreamland where every car is overpriced hangs around for months and the price is dropping like a stone. Interesting observations from Digga and GTBrown regarding probable forthcoming price increases which may also affect the price of the GT4 and Spyder to be launched at Geneva in March. Could be £76k a piece.
Don't forget Ferrari increased their prices by 14%. Reckon on likely new price on the next GT3 to be £125k basic minimum.

One of the first UK cars (check it is UK supplied) 17 17 plate 7k miles so relatively high miles. What are your thoughts on this car guys? I know there aren't any pictures yet but the spec is there i spose.
Fairly low spec. Steel brakes?
New otr list would be c£116k to £117k on the details given.
£23k to £24k premium for 7k miles and an early reg highish miler.
Think this car was advertised privately on here and discussed before. Same price.
About right.

Serious reply - It's expensive. Nothing wrong with the car or spec (ignore the comments from the gt newbies who think everything should have lovely bright yellow callipers, faux carbon and fancy LED headlights <sigh> ). It ideally wants £10k in the glovebox.

Especially bearing in mind someone on here has just paid top money (£120k?) for a c4 year old 17k mile gen 1 GT3 from OPC Solihull.
Check out the thread.
