What a truly idiotic post, how on earth can you know that.
I’m with D, if your intention is a quick buck, who cares about running in?

ETA, I see a flipped car being under 1,000 miles / 6 months old.

Not sure if this was aimed at me or not?

I wouldn’t call my car a flipped car, it’s done 3k miles and if I had wanted to flip it I would have sold it 3 months ago for £20k more.

As for thrashed, the car has been maintained meticulously from day 1 and run in carefully having had its oil changed at 1,000 miles as recommended by the main technician at my OPC. Also it has never been driven hard when cold and has not been on track.
Don’t think that was aimed at you Martin...pretty obvious you specced yours for you.

I’d agree though that buying one of these with 500 miles on it you have to believe that most cars with that mileage have been exercised enthusiastically !

Funnily enough, I was thinking this today,as I was out in mine for a blast. i’ve Run it in really carefully , never let it labour, never rev it until the fluids are up to temp , etc . It struck me that a car with few miles on it (even if very few) , sold quickly , could well have been unsympathetically spanked . smile

A flipped car is no more likely to have been thrashed than any other.

Far worse to buy imo ex demonstrator ex track or ex PEC cars many of which are retailed as 1 owner at your local OPC.

My car has very low miles. It has not been thrashed in the few miles it has done. Far from it! I could be selling it tomorrow if the phone rings for an RS allocation.
So any low miles car for sale =abused car theory is bulst.

I'll second that. Mine is October 2017 - 500 miles only. 4500 revs is the max I've done. Don't get the time to use it sadly - but adore the car, and enjoy simply having it.
You cannot generalise - my car has never been abused.

Well I drove my GT4 down to mid-Sussex yesterday and collected my manual 991.2 GT3. Absolutely loved the drive back, feels much more grown up than the GT4, and engine feels special even at running in revs.

I’d planned to keep my GT4 but in the end decided to move on and have sold in to the dealer. If anyone wants a cracking, vet high spec, low miles GT4 give them a call.

I think I’m going to enjoy the GT3. Yes it will cost money to run and will depreciate, but that’s life

Great move, I think you will love the car coming from a GT4. Enjoy :-)

But your car is not for sale is it lol so really a moot point.

Btw up the revs other wise you will have that car 4 years without ever seeing 9k.

If you understand how an engine works you really need to be above 4.5k revs by now.

Human nature and OPC attitude to test drives.

again not a flipped car for sale !

I don't see the points people are making ! owner keeper car looks after his car, that's a given one would hope.

the only thing what is showing up though are all these owners have NOT used their cars at all in 12 months lol

500, miles, 600 miles wtf

Looks like the mileage police are back with a vengeance. rolleyes

GT3 buyers really should be made to sign a mileage clause as part of their purchase contract. Minimum of 6k miles p.a.

Yep that should be enforceable. Not.

Not my experience when test driving a GT3 at an OPC. You just can't justify the statement you made.

Much as I hate the generalisation, I was looking at a 600 mile 991.2 GT3RS which obviously had it'soringinal tyres fitted in the dealer showroom. My first reaction was .. I would have fitted new tyres.

I also had a running-in conversation with a very good friend of mine who in my view wasn't an inspired driver ... his wife chipped in ... Oh "M" doesn't run cars in.

Whilst I hate the generalisation .. again .. many a true word said jest ...

VERY attractive car Martín. Love it totally !

Why do you feel that you can’t say how much you got for the car , though you post a price which it was advertised ??

The ticket price and deal done with the new owner were slightly different and anyone could see what it was priced up at but not what it sold for.

A bit of respect for the new owner really, his money and if he wants to come on here and say what he paid that’s up to him but I won’t give the figures out.

So long as he is happy (which I am sure he is) then good luck to him smile

Evening all, looking at swapping my GT4 for a 991.2 GT3. Love the GT4 but always wanted a GT3 and it would be a car that I would keep and use weekend/track. Now it has the manual gearbox this is the one I would like. Do you think it’s a good time to swap? I’ve seen prices lowering quite a bit on the GT3, do you think they’ll still drop a bit more this winter? Thanks

Almost word for word I have been thinking the same...…..and I think they (991.2 GT3) will drop yet. Everything is dropping except the very latest new things. 991.2; is not the newest thing now and plenty for sale, so easy to purchase one.... whilst some cars have sold quickly recently I suspect it is below what dealers/people are asking. Right now I would say that the GT4 is sounder financially than the 991.2 GT3, until the new GT4 comes out that is..... but then being a much cheaper car, it has less to fall. With the 992 now announced and speccable (is that a word? - it is now!) coupled to the usual internet gossip that the 992.1 GT3 could only be a year to 18 months away.....I wonder where 991.2 prices will end up? They still have the 991.1 to prop them up.....

I have been struggling with the exact same quandary…. :P
