SS usually have some extra garages, just ask Jo when you sign in. Unfortunately I'm away this week so can't join you guys there. Hope the weather is good.isaldiri said:

That's a shame, was wondering if you would be there to continue our GT discussions.
Yeah would have loved to ask you a few things further. Although Andy and co at Reading are busy copying most of your geo settings on my car anyway so probably wouldn't have been ready Next time hopefully, I'm likely at quite a few of the SS own days there anyway.TDT said:
Will be intensely studying LaSource's 2.26 in a stock GT4 from a little while ago.
I hope he doesn't mind me saying this but I'd recommend you pm lasource for the vbox file for a better comparison than simply looking repetitively at the video (much as his videos are very good given the number of cameras/kit he brings to a trackday ). Think you mentioned you had a vbox in another thread, the data files are very useful things I find. That said, one can get too bogged down in data (I know I do) when probably getting more instruction is the better way to improve.

hat looks like a lot of fun! I'm sure it's no coincidence that there are so many track cars. Lovely.
(I know this is the Porsche forum, and there's one "B" word we're not allowed to mention any more, but BMW 3 series track cars is okay, surely?)
BMW's are well twinned with track Porsches. Infact between BMW and Porsche you have over 50% of most pitlanes - higher still at the ring!(I know this is the Porsche forum, and there's one "B" word we're not allowed to mention any more, but BMW 3 series track cars is okay, surely?)

I've never driven an M3 (been in a stripped-out race one at the Ring) but can imagine what great motors they are.

ack in their day, my wife had an E46 325i coupe, with the M-sport suspension pack. It was a lovely car.

As well as being all round useable, the E46 has great chassis balance - something that comes alive somewhere like the ring. Close to 50/50 weight distribution, front engined meaning they carry great speed into corners and allow for mid corner adjustment if needed. The rear can be a tad loose and rotates around the front really easily.I've never driven an M3 (been in a stripped-out race one at the Ring) but can imagine what great motors they are.
They all need a few tweaks for circuit work but overall parts are plentiful and relatively cheap (compared to Porsche tax). So take any E46, uprate suspension and brakes and you have a natural track car.
Sure a GT3 may be a more sophisticated proposition, but pound for pound, the M3 is punching.

Agreed on the E46 chassis, although I very seldom got to drive the thing, as Mrs Digga loved it so much. The transition into that from her rev-happy, boxer-engined Alfa was, erm, interesting! She reckons the sports seats are still, to this day, the best seats in any car, ever.
Only pic I can find of the car, at work, so clearly on a day where I'd swiped it!
Back to GT3s since this thread seems to have taken over from the main GT3 thread..Yesterday in my 991.2GT3 braking very hard from a long straight into a tight corner, my GT3 exhibited some rear end instability at peak braking, a bit like it was trying to pull left and right simultaneously.Tyre pressures were fine so i'm wondering if its needs a geo or maybe RWS needs re-calibrating..
Anybody else experienced this i wonder..?
