Hi Rick,

I actually took a lot of your advice as you will see. I had a very specific specification that I wanted and almost got everything, my requirements were ideally:

1) Manual
2) Seal grey
3) Porsche sports exhaust
4) Twin tailpipe exhaust (just loved the look of it)
4) Porsche embossed seats
5) Litronics
6) No sunroof

I got all of my requirements other than the colour, which I have now warmed to. The car has full service history, approximately 8 Porsche stamps and the rest Porsche specialists. There was a couple of niggles with it, one being last years service had been done at a standard independent garage, but I will be taking it to a specialist this year. It has covered 85,000 which was slightly more than I wanted but it looks like it has been looked after well, the paintwork is very good. Since getting it I have had the bumper sprayed and a brand new original splitter fitted as it had a turbo one fitted when I got it which I didn't like much. Next up is the alloys which will be done before the spring.

Already loving it and cannot wait for the summer! Thanks again Rick for all of your pointers.

Thats a great spec and very similar to my 03 coupe, except i had a standard exhaust, which i swapped for a Top Gear sports setup, with the quad pipes which i agree look terrific, and minus the embossed seats. If you have the original invoices, or some of them, it would enable you to see what things have been refreshed. Such as clutch which will have been replaced, and suspension components which again may well have been done or may need looking at. 85k miles is not massive and your car sounds like it has been well cared for, although the owner may have lost interest at the end which might ecplain the standard indy service.
Waterpumps are a weak spot on these engines, and you might want to check if that jas been replaved if you can. If you replace the clutch have the ismb checked. It is probably original. If free of play just flip off the rubber seal, and leave alone!Otherwise drive and enjoy! Btw 911uk is a really good forum and worth joining.
Cheers Rick

Hi Rick,

Thanks again. I forgot to mention I got a folders worth of invoices and details on the car, the only thing that was unfortunately missing was anything in relation to the clutch. It has to have been done surely, and the clutch feels spot on at the moment so I wasn't overly concerned.

I soon got bored of reading about the IMS and bore scoring issues, that may sound a little naïve but if it happens then it happens. I didn't want to waste all my time and enjoyment worrying about it.

I am on 911uk too thank you, same username...
