So we have wonderful weather and I have a nice new car to try out driving

So im sure everyone will be saying, what do you think, where did you go?

Well the answer is F*#Kin nowhere as I’m having a day out with Henry in East London cry

MEET HENRY,he is the .2 Version so probably but not definitely will get this job done a little quicker than if I’d brought the old model yikes Just Saying laugh He’s definitely louder, sucks harder and responds as soon as you turn him on without delay, no GT3 but a reliable old bd !!!

Mr Juno

How many miles has your new car got on it ? I’m intrigued as to how many miles you mind your new car having, as it sounds like you have a reasonable amount of cash and experience with these type of cars. I will be purchasing my first Porsche..

You obviously have a fair bit of experience with these cars.. did you consider a 997.2 or have you driven/ owned one ?

Would you skip the 991.1 and get a 991.2 and save the cash if you were a ‘middle income owner’. I suppose the difference is a couple of year’s school
Fees ..... say 36k....

Did you get a manual or a tiprtonic/ auto ?

Hope you are having loads of fun !

You lucky man,I was so tired by the time I got home any attempt to drive it would have resulted in me crashing yikes

Funnily I pulled into the fuel station in the wagon on the way back, walked to the till to pay for the fuel and thought what pump was I on confused

The lady at the till said “Sir you just drove up and parked straight outside the window, you haven’t taken any fuel” FFS banghead

Hiya

Great to be getting your first Porsche so well done and enjoy.

997 GT3 are great cars and I think are more suited to the manual box than the 991,just my opinion of course.

997GT3 RS a bit pricey maybe but if you have the budget there probably depreciation proof so there’s an upside.

I think the 991 .1 or .2 has grown up a lot from the 997 and I personally like the PDK and think it works better with the overall car and package.

However it’s horses for courses and were all different which I suppose means, well we’re all different so there is no wrong or right it’s what you want personally that counts.

I know of a potential FANTASTIC .1 GT3 that might be for sale, probably the best .1 you would find today.

Nothing wrong with the .1 in my opinion I loved mine! Yes I personally think the .2 is a better car for the reasons I posted earlier, it does stir my porridge a little more but as you say is it school fees better! I guess you have to try both and go from there.

If you’d like to say what your budget is I could at least tell you what I’d do,I understand if you don’t want to though!

I hope that answers your questions.

Sorry I did say I was sleepy, my car has done 1700 miles and it’s a PDK

Thanks for the insight... Sounds like a considered balanced view...

Great photos!

We’re like girls congratulating someone who’s given birth to their new baby😄

As you say - try them both ...Was thinking of hiring one when I’m in Vegas this week but it’s about 500 bucks for 4 hours...

I could take my current fund which is 50k short and stick it all on red 😅

Interesting that you think the 991.1 Rs is deprecation proof... Do YOU think they’ll go lower that they are currently ???

I’m so pleased for you that you’ve had great days for driving 🌞

I would defo NOT put the whole lot on RED yikes

It was the 997 GT3RS that I said I think is depreciation proof. It’s got to the age now where it’s setteled down and the cars are with the owners rhat want them as keepers.

I think the 991 .1 RS is a more tricky subject so we will have to see how that one plays out!

And leather steering column . I thought I was the only person ever to Spec this on a GT3 !
Leather steering Column with deviated stitching is common as muck on GT3's.

It's the £830 dashboard trim package in leather that is a key identifier of insane spec creep.

Plastic dashboard end trims? Are you mad? I'm not an animal!

I have had my 991 GT3 RS for 3 years now. Initially I thought i would shift it, as it didn't stir my emotions in the same way that my 997 GT3 RS 4.0 does, but over the last 3 years the 991 GT3 RS has grown on me. I have done 10.000km in it, and I find that i use it more than i first envisaged. The car is here in Sounthern Germany / Austria and I use it pretty much whenever its not snowing or raining. It is more versatile than the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 and on a quick commute to the airport on the unrestricted Autobahn or across a couple of undulating mountain roads, the car brings a smile to my face. It i a fun drive and also a very quick one if pushed a bit. The only downside for commuting is the (lack of) rear vision when parking and the cabin noise when doing +250 km/h on the Autobahn. It is very very loud (ideally you should wear a helmet - but that looks a bit daft) and has huge presence on the road. I am starting to like it a lot 3 years in.

991.1 GT3 RS is a great car,I was torn between the.1 RS and .2 GT3 but wanted the new 4.0 engine!
