That’s a very good point re sport design package. It really helps with the rear end which looks likes it’s bityom heavy as std.

That looks miles better. Where did you get those pictures? Cheers.
Interesting though - basically it now looks really similar to the back of a 991.2 GTS.

I much prefer the higher number plate as this breaks up the back and stops it looking “wedge” like.

Also the new sports kit front is more similar to the 991.2 , too.

They obviously think the sport pack makes it look better so they can charge for it, but in reality, all it does is make it look more like the old model - who’d have thought it smile

I understand your sentiment exactly and it makes perfect sense. HOWEVER, last April prices rose and the car I had on order arrived after a certain build week so I had to wear the price hike. I argued but the opc insisted the price ‘agreed’ is subject to change and they were actually correct.

I reckon the prices being removed from website is in anticipation of a Brexit/wto/annual price hike. Price hikes will be common place in a Y2K reaction to the adoption of wto tariffs on traded physical goods. (That’s for another forum)
Well let’s see what happens, might just be a broken website smile

Yep, after those back to back photos with a 991.2 I'm now sold on the 992 design.

If it had a noisy flat 6 n/a engine I might have ordered one.

I agree. As much as people are complaining about the rear I think it looks modern and fresh and makes the 991 rear look a little dated.
My biggest issue is whether I can use the gear stick to actually change gear. I use that facility on my 991 as much as I use the paddles, I don't like to have both hands on the steering wheel at all times.

Despite that I would still order one, the only real thing stopping me is that a C4S would feel underpowered compared to my 991 TTS. This creates a real problem for me. I bought the TTS about two years old, I'm not sure I can afford a brand new TTS both in terms of initial outlay and potential depreciation.

That would mean waiting about three years until I change! Not sure I can wait that long! Perhaps I should consider a new GTS? I could afford one of those brand new, and it would be nice to spec a brand new Porsche for once.

The GTS usually gets 30 BHP more than the S I think? That would take it to 480 BHP, still quite a bit less than the 560 BHP in my TTS but it should still feel nippy.

Sorry for waffling! Merry Christmas.

Can always tune it, think a 991.2 GTS is at 530bhp ish after a map... Not to everyones taste but remap is very easy access to more performance for relatively low cost. TT engines allow it to be so much more flexible.

Hi Matt

No way would I consider a remap on a car of this value

Presumably because of warranty issues, process etc, very small amount of people brave enough to do it...
Just a suggestion.

That said spoilt with performance with TTS

Anyone looked at interior trim options in detail?

The silver strip that runs across the width of the dash looks smart but I saw a video that said it’s painted plastic. Are there are any better options?

Shame that the door sills seem to be the same as the 991. The 997 carbon sill guards where really big and smart whilst the 991 ones are fairly small and do little to nothing to protect against possible shoe scuffing.

Just realised the Sports Exhaust loses the quad exhausts. Guess they’ve worked out that for some reason Turbo engine exhausts sound better like that ? GT2 RS has similar exhaust configuration ?

It has quad exhaust outlets behind the trim piece like the GT2 RS. Each silencer has two pipes: one valved ‘straight through’ and std silenced route. They then share the oval trim outlet.

What they can bypass the cat ie "straight through?" Amazing if correct but how does that work with emissions?

Sorry - I meant a 21st century straight through! The days of no cat etc are sadly well gone. it only bypasses some/all of the silencers as far as I can tell. So that's still turbo->cat->ppf->silencer :-(

I'm really hoping someone quickly launches a petrol particulate filter removal kit.

The standard aluminium is nice but the Diamar lightsilver is not one I like particularly if it's the same as the 991. The carbon is a 'matt' version and my OPC has no sample to show atm. Painted trim is a bit 'in yer face'. I've specced the carbon but if I can get to see some real life examples of the alternatives before lock down that would be good.

Agree with the sill guards not being much good for protection, so will probably put some ppf on the area.

Anyone any views on the merits of either of these 2 spec's? My original one I went for the black interior.... now I'm thinking I quite like the standard wheels in satin black, with the two tone grey interior to lighten it up.

Anyone with more experience of specing from new, who could cast their eye over and help give me an opinion? smile I've not seen these options on any of the test car pics that are floating about yet! Thank you.

I noticed that the pricing is back on the Porsche website - not change as far as I can tell, other than the additions of some extra options notably the crazily priced sports design package.

I’m on my phone at the moment. What’s the price of the SDP if you’d be so kind?

£2853 for front and back changes... £1809 if you just want the front. I think the front will look just fine as standard once the number plate is on - all the pics show without front nimber plate which I think will make a difference. I prefer the standard rear anyway.

I know it’s all subjective but that seems reasonable for front and rear to me, especially as it improves the look so much.

Obviously a Porsche tax but there you go!
