I've been scouring the web to find pictures of anything similar, no luck so far!
I’ve not seen any guards red, but there is a glimpse of the crayon/grey interior in the 5 highlights video https://youtu.be/BS9z1hXw05Q

FWIW i read a pre-launch driving review in the US where the journalists remarked that the non GPF US spec 992s made a much better noise compared to the muffled GPF Eu cars driven..
I had a 718 Boxster loan car last week which had the GPF....noticeably quieter at idle than my wife’s 718 Boxster.

Hi David - did it have the same exhaust system as your wife’s car (sports exhaust or standard?). And what was it like when driving please?

I’ve found exhausts start to get louder after 2k miles and then louder at 4K miles and so on.

Very interested to hear as I may have a few days til the spec locks down on my car.

Didn’t realise you couldn’t make those wheels black - my bad , it’s the ones that look like modern Fuchs where you can do this. Still love your wheels though.

The outside of the car is really growing on me* , especially the front (with sports kit) and the side - I like the flared fronts now too. Jury is still out on the rear for me, it’s very high and wedge like IMHO , but may look nice in the metal. The inside is where I struggle the most - purely down to the dials and gear lever - I really like the switches though.

Taken in the round though, it’s a really nice move on and I’m sure will sell very well. I’m not sure I’d be rushing to swap a wide bodied 991.2 for one as it’s basically a facelifted version of this car, but if I was in the market for a new DD this would work very well for me.

Not sure about SWBP - Chris at APB Motorsport would know - he’s on here. Agree about the pops and farts - horrid. I’ll try your tip of sports plus/ manual in the GTS. In truth, the 991.2 already sounds crap, so I suppose we’ve already given up the glorious noise of a NA flat 6 frown

Enjoy your new toy.

PS Funny you had a Saab too - loved that car smile

  • * edited to add - I really don’t like the cab version though - it’s gone back to the hump backed version like the 997 - the 991 cab is so much nicer - all just MHO smile

Loved my Saab. Bought it to be different as a company car over the regular Audi and BMW’s and it was fantastic for over 100k miles.

The modern Fuchs wheels can have gold on the inside as well which could look quite cool. Trouble is all the family hate the 5-spoke and yet strangely didn’t mind them on the 50th anniversary. Go figure that one lol.

I know what you mean about the style and the rear is still a bit challenging imo but better as standard than with the sport design kit. I’m quite liking the slenderness of the standard front end. Like I said different car for me this time. If I like then I’m sure a GTS will be on the drive when it’s announced with the sporty front end. And if I don’t like it, probably a Carrera T!

I’ve heard that Sharkwerks are only just making a bypass for the 991.2 so I think the 992 may be a little while yet.
My sales guy is at the launch later in the month and is going to try the exhausts and let me know. Of course if it locks down before then I suppose it will help me get ready for the Taycan. LOL.

CAB is definitely not a looker imo but I’ve never had a Targa so let’s see how that comes out.

Hi Kevin, both had standard exhausts...although my wife’s has the twin exhausts “sports tailpipes” and the OPC car the one large one. Doubt that makes a difference though ? Both cars had about 4K miles on them.

Does the sports exhaust change the "normal" exhaust note, compared to the standard setup?

Any one going for the rear wheel steering?

It's dangerous and confusing listening to everyone's option choices... hehe

My latest effort - http://www.porsche-code.com/PL1PACE9.

I'm not brave enough to go Aventurine. I do like the silvers though.
I'm not sure how dark truffle is but I remember people with the all luxor interior having real problems with reflections on the windscreen.
This was particularly an issue in the hotter US states. I remember seeing a vid of it and it was very distracting.

I had two tone luxor in my previous 991 but that was ok because the dash was a very dark brown.

Deepest Perthshire, Scotland - whether the heated seats work quickly enough is the main concern! hehe

Fair enough lol.

But it might be worth considering it, I'm sure you get bright sunlight sometimes....?

We do - but I think the Truffle is dark enough.

Popped into the dealer this afternoon and finalised the spec as https://www.porsche.com/microsite/porsche-code/def...

March/April build, April/May delivery. Exciting!

Blue and brown - lovely!

I saw a Cayenne Turbo in that external colour with the brown and cream interior and it looked spectacular.

Your spec is very classy.

Thank you!

Slightly different story re the Factory Collection too - there's a suggestion that the factory shutdown and backlog has put collections on hold.

Disappointing, as I'd have liked the road trip and experience.

Night Blue and brown leather will look stunning! NB is one of my favourite Porsche colours - I’ve had 2 (GT4 & Macan Turbo PP) and I don’t like blue cars normally.

Love the green.. here's my spec (sadly theoretical as I'm about 2 years away from being in a position to order!)

Have signed the paper work and sent my spec! Was told I can change spec up to the 15th of Feb, slowly getting there. I believe some reviews of actual first drives will be out today/tomorrow

That's lovely. I wouldn't pay £800 for gold wheels though when you can get them done for £300 once you have the car.

The first driven reviews are in and all looks rosy.

Harris and Catchpole seem to be keen on the rear steer, which adds to the spec dilemma.

I'm also still torn on the sports exhaust.

I haven't bothered with RWS. Its a daily drive so I can't really see the point. I have no intention of taking it out on circuit. If you were going to then fair enough, but otherwise may as well save your money.
