Up to just under 250 Miles now in C2Ss Cab, after the coupe its everything I hoped it would be. Will keep this as daily until 992 Turbo S next year.
Looks great Apolo..I have a 992S Coupe which i think is a fantastic car and will change it for a Cabrio in July..How are you finding the Cabrio compared to your Coupe .? Can you feel any compromise in terms of handling and poke due to the extra weight and open body..?

It does not feel quite a ridged as the Coupe when pushing on twisty roads etc. Tbh i did not expect to be. It feels about like what my 991.2 Targa was in that area. Its very quiet inside with the roof up, almost same as a Coupe. I can not feel any lack in performance over the Coupe in either acceleration etc. You will not regret the Cab over the Coupe. I initially wanted a Cab, but was expecting it to be much later in the year that's why i took the Coupe. Then they announced the Cab.

911 Cabs...what on earth D. Only cab that has ever looked reasonable on a modern is the 458 IMO. This just looks lardy, pure golf club ...from which I’m sure you’ve been banned anyhow.

When’s the 620 due ?....now that’s a proper cab.

You should have a go in one before you " Diss" it. The 992 is a great daily car, it really does do it all. 620s delayed for 2 weeks.

I have, the coupe, and agree. Can’t be doing the Miami Vice Cab thing though. You’ll love the kit car....

FINALLY arrived, today, at Guildford. Gentian Blue with Slate Grey / Crayon.
Nice colour combo!

On the question of rear space... yes there is a bit more room i believe. The only complaint from my daughter is that they have got rid of the central little cubby that she used to store stuff in and the front seat catches are a bit more fiddly as a leather strap than the 991.2 catch that was more ergonomic to use.

Just did my 992 driving experience at the PEC yesterday..The car i drove has RAS but no PDCC which always suits the small tight slow speed PEC tracks..I was hugely impressed with the RAS on those circuits although i still maintain the gap with the non RAS is nowhere near as pronounced as the 991.2 cars.
I drove the 200 miles home in my 992 non RAS and in the last 50 miles or so where the roads become twisty i never missed the RAS..It undoubtedly improves the 992 in terms of agility and maneuverability at low speeds and stability at higher speed, by reducing slip angles but for normal road driving i don't think its a 'must have' only a 'nice to have'..However i still think RAS is great technology and will benefit more from it on my forthcoming RS which will be used as a trackday car sometimes.

Reading Autocar's 992S roadtest today and they weighed the test car on MIRA's scales at 1525KG. Autocar weigh all their test cars with a full tank and the test car was fitted with steel brakes with the only weight adding options being RAS and Front lift. The RAS and front lift adds at least 15Kg which makes the test weight of 1525Kg only 10Kg more than the official 1515Kg very surprising..IIRC the 991.2S PDK they tested previously was 1535Kg yet the official weight was 1460Kg which is 55Kg less than the official 992S weight.
IIRC under the new WLTP rules all new cars sold in the EU have to be weighed officially in standard spec unlike before where the usually inaccurate weight was in the lightest possible spec..

Watched the latest Carfection vid on the 992...I hadn’t realised that the steering is calibrated differently when RWS is specced...i.e. it’s a bit “sharper” when RWS isn’t specced.

I find this really interesting. Maybe it’s the silver lining of the whole WLTP stuff.

As you say it has has lift and rear steer. It also looks like it has 18-way seats which must be the heaviest seat option. No sunroof though and standard wheels. I’m surprised it’s not heavier.

Ever so slightly off topic, but I've got a Gentian Blue 992 due in a couple of months and have been thinking about insurance. I've got a Mercedes at the moment which is also insured with Mercedes, so will be looking to change. Full NCB, no accidents, Mid forties, etc, etc. Any recommendations for quality cover rather than just the cheapest (e.g. Admiral)?

I've tried everywhere over the years but i now insure all my cars apart one exception with NFU..The exception is the one Porsche which i need track cover which NFU strictly exclude.
NFU top quality cover with FOC two year GAP insurance cover included for all cars bought new..Unbeatable on high end cars IME..

Thanks Taffy66, that's really helpful thanks. I'll give them a call in a month and see how they fair price wise too.

Incidentally, here are the details of the 992 C2S that I've specced:-

Porsche code: PL4B15L3
I've subesequently added the glass sunroof and BOSE to this spec.

But in short (or long!), it's got:-

Gentian Blue Metallic
Black leather interior (Crayon stitching)
Trim strips in a high-gloss finish
Electric folding exterior mirrors including courtesy lighting
Sports exhaust system
Sport Chrono Package incl. mode switch
20/21-inch Carrera S wheels
Wheel centres with full-colour Porsche Crest
LED main headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor
ParkAssist (front and rear) including reversing camera
Light design package
Sports seats Plus (4-way electric)
Guards Red seat belts
Rev counter dial face in guards red
Sport Chrono stopwatch in guards red
Porsche Crest embossed on headrests
Heated GT sports steering wheel Alcantara®
Storage compartment lid in Alcantara® with ‘PORSCHE’ logo
Glass Sunroof
BOSE

This is going to be a daily driver for me to take over from my Mercedes E220d. I tend to take the kids to school each morning which is a 20 mile round trip and then head into the office. Kids are 10 & 11 and they fit fine (for now!). Plus wife has a Cayenne so we have a bigger car to use when necessary.

I've also got a Boxster 981S which is going to stay for sunny days. I bought it new back in 2012, here's the thread to when I picked it up all those years ago:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I've gone a little lighter on the options on my new 992 compared with the Boxster that had in the region of £30k's worth of options!

Porsche Cambridge have also been excellent to deal with so far and I've got a build date of July. Really can't wait!

Just a word of caution to anyone speccing the GT Sport steering wheel..I have a 992S Coupe and have a 992S Cabrio arriving next month and i deliberately avoided the GT Steering wheel..My reasoning is simple as i prefer the thinner grip of the standard wheel which give me more feel personally..Another thing about the thicker rimmed GT Steering wheel is that it significantly blocks the view of the dials in the instrument binnacle..The GT wheel is also exactly the same size as the standard wheel unlike th 991 which was smaller .
Something to bear in mind IMO.
