From what the website says you get

997 GT
997 RS
991 GT/RS

I’d be interested to do it but ideally want 997.2 GT3 and RS and a 991.2 GT3 RS! I’d be a bit gutted if I got the 997.1 RS instead of the .2!
I went before buying my GT3, as I was dithering over a wide range from 997.1-997.2-991.1, the latter two (non RS) were quite compressed in terms of price.

There was not really any scope to 'pick' cars and, in the end, I got to drive neither a 997.1 or 997.2 in either GT3 or GT3 RS form... However, I did get to try 991.1 GT3 and GT3 RS, and then scared myself witless in the 997 GT2, which was mental.

As others say, the circuits are not very long, but do give you enough different types of corner to get a flavour of a cars handling. The exception here being the RS, which my (very limited) ability was not able to fathom. It just felt like it was a lot faster and gripper than I had any business troubling.

The low friction and other sideways fun bits were, in many regards, as good or better than the tracks.

The amount of time I spent going in circles , I was happy it was not my car , even on low friction surfaces . The instructors are really great

My brain really struggled to do those wide, arcing donuts. It kept thinking it was a corner and blending off the throttle after about 270 degrees. I also found I drifted better one way than the other. spinwobble

I did this yesterday and drove the following:
991.2 PDK Carrera
991.2 Manual GT3
997.1 GT2
997.2 GT3 RS

On the whole it was great day but I'm not sure I'd have been as happy if I had paid for it rather than using vouchers you get when you buy a new car. You don't get anywhere near to extending any of the cars to their limits. I would have perhaps preferred it if had been wet because all the cars have so much grip that it was difficult to break grip levels unless on the low friction circuits.

The 991.2 GT3 felt the quickest of the lot and the standard brakes on its were superb, so much feel and was easier to drive than my 997.2 Carrera. The 997.2 GT3 RS had the best steering but the gear change was really tough on the downshifts which on the small tight circuit meant you were not as smooth as the other cars. The GT2 didn't feel as fast as I was expecting it to be.

With hindsight I would have stumped up the extra cash and done the precision course on the main circuit.

I did pay for mine, but I get what you mean. I had a very specific set of requirements -namely, seat time in the two platforms, back-to-back - and it worked well.

Pretty much the same 'box as my GT3and as I had on my previous 996 turbo. IME they need at least 8 to 10 miles just to get the oil up to temperature, then the shift is of a very much kinder nature. They are also very sensitive to oil quality.

I did the Precision course last week in my own car, it was absolutely brilliant. You get three sessions on the Silverstone international circuit as well as all of the other tracks.

Yup I’ve don’t it three times in my own car twice in my manual 997 GTS and I did it again last year in my 991.2 GT3. It’s a great thing to do if you want to learn the limits of your car in a controlled environment. They’re doing one this summer for GT3 owners.

Probably the most fun I had was in my 997 GTS as the track was a bit damp on the second occasion so got the car was moving around much more...what was interesting on that was the Sport mode cuts in a few degrees later which actually made quite a big difference. Not something you would ever experiment with on the public highway.

I am going to the Precision Day this summer in my GT3.

Would really like to do the GT experience if I could definitely get behind the wheel of a 997.2 RS.

I'm doing that too, I'm guessing there must be a few more from here besides.
Thought it looked fun and it was the only way my insurer would cover my car on the PEC tracks.

No that’s similar to the days I’ve done before. Won’t be doing it

The precision day is a full day in your own car on a combination of the PEC tracks and the main Silverstone circuit. It’s about £900 I think but you can trade in a half day you get with a new car to partially pay for it. In my case I bought a Macan last year...so using that to partly “pay” for the Precision Day. You can hire one of their cars to do it but that’s expensive...£2k plus.

For the PEC tracks I think insurance isn’t really necessary to be honest.
