house price are going up in 90% of the UK
"New sellers in all northerly regions have the pricing power to ask more than a year ago, with six of these seven regions seeing annual price growth in excess of 2%"

assets like Rolex and investments also going up daily as people look where to invest money, mine have tripled ! in fact one has gone up £2k in one month !

If you look at JZM web site you might even say cars are going up looking at their values of 997's atm lol

really nice cars are selling well, I must be upto 8 cars I have had an eye on all Sold at all levels.
Normal run of the mill cars yes,a dead market, but the UK has too many cars due to 15 years of PCP hand backs !!!

I see no doom and gloom bar normal cars and that's not a Brexit issue that's an over supply issue the UK has too many 2nd hand cars for sale !!
As more and more people PCP cars the market is flooded. One might even say the GT markets flooded for real owners !

if 1/2 the current GT4 owners get offered a new GT4 can the UK stand 300 2nd hand GT4's ,, it's seems buyers can stand forking out for new ones !
So again not a brexit issue as all will say as Porsche will sell every car they make.

I'm certainly not aware of 90% of house price increases but happy to be wrong as i'm a home owner myself.

General opinion seem to be that house prices have softened ( see the thread 'How far will house prices fall) where actual sellers seem to be struggling and reducing.

I agree that money has be be invested somewhere so alternative investments such as rare watches etc may well appreciate.

Anyhow sorry to have derailed the thread

we have too many London anti Brexit people here and also news is based around London where house's are dropping, but really house price are up every where else all be it a slower rises than past years, but up still the same as we have a house shortage or population issue which ever you see fit.

the thing is London has inverters and they sold up and are renting. rents are up in London, house prices down, but it's fake new as the rest of the UK is up, just at a slower rate. London figures bring the UK whole figures down ! but the reason is foreign investors in London, not real house owners like me and you. Rents might well go up 15% in London the next 2 years now. Investor's sold up like they do with peak RS buying models ;-) funny place London.

quote a year change, it's easy to pick a bad month but on the whole the UK house price are up in 90% area's

the only place down is London and I have stated why. £100 billion of property across London is over sea's and they have been selling assets.

pretty simple to get one's head round really, the rest of the UK see's a housing shortage so no drop, just slower growth.

"UK house prices unexpectedly rose at the fastest monthly rate in almost two years in December, according to Halifax, despite warnings over the potential impact of Brexit for the year ahead.
Halifax, one of Britain’s biggest mortgage lenders, said the average cost of a home rose by 2.2% compared with November."

hence you quote NOV figures for effect !!!!

By far the biggest drop has been caused by private buyer uncertainty (and almost change fatigue) over government environmental legislation. Remember, that however bad UK car sales were in September 2018, they dropped even more in Germany. This is a widespread stall, caused by ham-fisted regulation. If the EU had set out to wreck the European car industry they couldn't have done a much better job.

I google it as you did, every single quote I find is up bar London prices.

if you can post a 2019 figure to despel that , then please do. but I cannot find one so how is that "cherry picked" when every quote says the same, I could quote 40+ all saying house prices are up over all bar London in 2019 . !

Only the annual prices (asking) are "+" but it's not up, it is a very slow growth and if you check monthly change, it is negative. London has been suffering since the refereandum, and it's been affecting all related industries quite badly.

I'd like to remind you, in late 2008 early 2009, During Lehman Brothers crash, the rest of the U.K. only felt the recession after London, but they felt it pretty strong and recovery has not been easy. (At some places, it was never recovered.)

Loads of things affecting of course, China, Global slow-down and even bloody stamp duty tax for 2nd homes!

I looked at that car yesterday. It is in excellent condition and at best could do with a detail but other than that it looked a great buy especially when an orange one sold the other week for around £125 with 30k on the clock.

wow £106k would have been very tempting. Nervous about buying at auctions though as I have no experience.

Love the car with no logos - stealth - if you can call a car with a huge sodding wing stealth. Lol

Bowler car looks nice; I like the leather buckets that came as options on the non-CS spec cars. The leather dash and seats set it off, too. Good miles... No PCCB's though. Not sure about the cf air outlet trim at the front, through the cf pieces in the cabin are quite nice. For me, somehow the gloss black refurbs look a bit out of place on that generation of car - but simple to sort if that's important to the buyer and otherwise it appears to be a nice car that someone seems to have taken care of - at least that what it looks like, going by the photos.

Price could be close to the right ballpark, given miles, after a bit of haggling, or possibly still a touch rich for the current market?? Maybe it should be at £75k prior to discussions...

Doesn’t make a 997 GT3 worth 80k then.

Personally I’d be bidding on a GT4 Insted of a 997 and I’ve owned two 997’s
