did anyone manage to find a bypass pipe that OPC's were 'ok' with regarding their warranty ? or is it simply a no from them regardless ??
The rear bypass is not going to harm anything , just remember, Porsche or any other marque have to prove the aftermarket piece caused a problem and not just because it has been replaced .Rear bypass is the last in line of the exhaust and will cause no problems what so ever, absolutely non.JCR sound brilliant .Some bright sparks may say changing the tips will invalidate warranty as well, but it won't.https://youtu.be/mN9xagyXocY
yup - i get it won't do anything........ but much as some extra noise woudl be nice, its not worth a gamble if Porsche ended up not covering something due to having an aftermarket one on.
i guess its a matter of calling my OPC and see their response.
its fine to assume you can swap them over before any servicing or warranty work, but different situation if you ever ended up stranded somewhere due to a failure... and you use the porsche recovery - why woudl you not when its part of warranty etc

On my 991.1 GT3 I had an Akrapovic race line system on the car, when the warranty expired I didn't renew it as I couldn't be arsed to take off the exhaust to pass the 111 check. A few months later a dynamic engine mount failed and Porsche still replaced it with a very large goodwill discount even with the exhaust still fitted. The dealer told Porsche HQ about it having a non standard exhaust on the car and it made no difference to the outcome.

I was told recently by my dealer service manager that so long as any after-market parts are not the cause of a potential warranty claim then the warranty claim will be met in full. He told me this is a recent change in policy. Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
