Thinking of rear wheel steer and sports exhaust as a ‘must have’ option.

Whatbare thoughts on these as don’t want to under spec but also don’t want to throw it away!
Evening Tony, when do you take delivery? I’m quite taken by this thing and would be very interested to see what you think of it. Reviews are encouraging but not sure if I can cope with the loss of noise. I hear the car is crushingly capable but might lack the theatre, hence I’d like your opinion. Hope all’s well chum.
Hi Mark

Sent you a PM.

Take delivery next week but gone for black with gold wheels. Have rear wheel steer, sports exhaust, chrono and alcantara. Loads more bits but they are the main ones.

Couldn’t make mind up which options were important so car ended up being quite a well specced model haha.

Hows the V12V......epic machine.

Thanks Tony, got it. Good luck with the handover day, let me know how you get on with the car once you’ve had time to settle in. V12V is the same as ever, still a grizzly bear.

Finally driven and a sports exhaust is a must for sure.

I think the car looks better with standard 4 pipes but even with a sports system it sounds somewhat muted.

Also think that dash is a crap design as outer dials hidden by steering wheel.

That said, looking forward to collection in a week or so!

Ordered mine and now just waiting an awfull long time till delivery day (September/October '19). I originally included the PSE but dropped it last minute. Can still add it on if I am fast... Any thoughts ? The dealership sales-guy told me the difference between PSE or not is now really small (noise wise). I prefer the looks of the 4 pipe tails of the standard version.

Other specs I took: Aventurine Green, HB (brown with grey stitching), 0NA QJ2 3FD 6XV 8HL 1N3 2UH 0I2 46K 4GP P14 KA2 7Y1 F76 Q2J 4A3 7TM 6NN 9VL

I think you’ll regret not picking the sports exhaust. It’s a quieter car so omitting anything that gives it a better voice is hard to reconcile. Sports chrono and sports exhaust imho are must haves.

My 992c2s no pse and difference is negligible tbh
Way better to drive than 991.2 but that was a cab, so far loving it.

That's a brilliant colour combo and pretty much identical to IR Evans's 992.

Quick question to anyone who has already taken delivery of a 992 without RAS..My 992S Coupe sans RAS is at my OPC waiting for me to pick it up..I also have a 992S Cabrio coming in July also without RAS but i still have time to add it on if i feel its worth it..My Coupe will be p/x'ed for the Cabrio as my family wanted an open top 911 for a change.
I was a huge fan of RAS on my 991.2GTS and as a result won't take much persuading to add it to the Cabrio..The only thing which will stop me are current non RAS 992s which feel its not as essential as it was on the 991.2.

Can someone point me in the direction of a photo without the 10mm drop in ride height please?

Mine has rear wheel steer and the lowered suspension, also has sports exhaust.

I think that as a minimum these are probably options that should be added, just for the fun element.

There are a few more options but probably not necessary biglaugh

Having been away from 911’s for a good 10 years, am looking forward to driving this later on this week.

The external side body kit is quite subtle and really suits the car.

Hi Taffy, I don't have RAS on the 992 and if I spec'd again I would probably add it. Not a deal breaker and I haven't driven one with RAS but now I've got used to it on the GT3 I think I would add it next time. Question is what would I take off, cos like you, I have self-imposed options budgets so as not to get totally fleeced come trade-in time.

Good to see people going for more interesting interiors rather than the usual boring all black.
Congrats!

Anybody speccing PDCC? I know PDCC seems to divide opinion and that track enthusiasts/driving gods don't seem to like it.
I've only ever owned 911s with it on as standard ( 2x 911 TTS) so don't know any different.

I'm test driving the C4S tomorrow and if I like it I might forget the idea of a new TTS next year and save myself a pile of cash. I would definitely go for RWS and -10mm sports suspension. PDCC is not cheap but I would be keeping the car for quite a few years so don't want any regrets about not getting the spec right.

Thanks

I saw an aventurine 992 in the metal today....thought it looked absolutely fantastic. However, the gold wheels (which I would have ordered) get a thumbs down from me the finish looks really cheap/like they’re made from plastic! Nothing like as nice as the gold finish on the 991.2 RS’s (apologies to anyone who has gold wheels and takes offence!)

Don't bother. I've now done 1000 miles in mine and it doesn't need it. I'll be changing mine for a cab in 4 months and I haven't specced RAS on the cab either.
