What a cracking day! Weather gods were with us for sure. Lovely day until 5pm smile
I still can't believe you made your brother do his first track day in a Radical. Did I hear that right?!
Yup haha. He did well, although he did pop over and put some sim time in to learn the circuit and braking points, gears etc.

It's true what they say, you can choose your friends, but family....

Guys, just wanted to say I had a fantastic time (blue 996), and really enjoyed meeting many of you in person.

Promising myself I must get out more. Dony is a great track (much more interesting than Silverstone, I thought).

If only there were more noisy days on tracks nearer to me....

Yep good times and good to chat with a few of you GT boys and see the CGT howling around (fuoro orange Caterham).

Of all the GT loveliness, my fave was your 996 Harris with its patina of heavy-use and stories, fantastic!!

Anytime Chris, you can now see why I'm converted to this thing for track work smile I really wish we had take a picture of your face when you took your helmet off haha.

I think I was in the 1:38's, which I am happy with for my second time out in the car. I trust its aero but need to trust its brakes now and brake even later and get on the power early knowing the front end has the grip. I'm not a pretty used set of slicks too and struggling with the brake balance/pressure getting a few lock ups. If I can get another 3 seconds of my lap time I'll mid pack if I race it next year, pretty happy with that for a beginner in this car or any aero car. smile

I'd be interested to know what kind of times people were doing in their 911s/GT3s around the GP track, Wed night was only the second time I've done that layout and the first time in the 6GT3, was in the 1:51s no idea if that is respectable and there was quite a bit of traffic.

I think there's another couple of seconds in there not least because I have 6 year old PS2's and was running on soft ARB settings!

From my point of view I’d say that’s very good taking into account the tyres. I managed 1:48,s on Tuesday with passenger and a bit of traffic. Running in a well sorted 997 .1 GT3 on cup2,s

I did a 1.53 in a 991.2 manual GT3 with a passenger- without him it would have been about 5 minutes ! (He was teaching me) smile

That's nothing. You could have timed my laps with a sundial.

This link to last year's MSVR race event will give you a good idea of lap times. The Lotus cup and saloon times (includes M3s) are probably the most relevant but there are also GT3 and GT4 cup times and even Radicals for Jay wink

Looking at the vids, us Ferret boys in Caterham R300 on Avon ZZR were 1:42-1:43 kinda pace. The track was a bit slow (post-Download mud/dust I guess). 1:40-1:41 is the pace for the Caterham 420R series.
I came up behind you guys when you were all driving together at around 30 mins to end, was a cool sight!

Thanks Ben! I have changed over the years. I used to be quite precious about my motors. But now I treat every carbon fender crack and bent bumper as part of a story. As long as the mechanicals underneath are 100% perfect, I actually enjoy the patina.

I would agree ... I was pressing on and seeing 1.48's but I was slower in the afternoon.
Yes the track was certainly a little slippery with dust ..
