Good call. I am going to look at a few of these myself. Hoping I can make the Anglesey date, as I've not driven the circuit sinc it was extensively revamped.
Yes, I was looking at Anglesey too. Maybe I will do a couple next year. Trouble is I haven't done a track day for many years and have a bit of a mental block risking my car. Is Anglesey a good place to start or maybe Castle Combe better as I at least remember it quite well? And don't worry as i had exactly the same mental block on my GT3 and i suspect it'll be even worse in my RS...The though of binning a car with an insurance value of £240K scares the bejesus out of me..!

I can't speak for Anglesey as never been there, but Castle Combe is one of 2 circuits I've had a big off while testing. I put one wheel of my Caterham on the grass and then proceeded to the scene of the accident. It hurt (physically and financially). So probably not the most friendly track, but then I suppose there is an element of danger at all circuits.

good place to get back to track days is Silverstone, as it mostly has a lot of run off and not too many places to get familiar with barriers or landscaping. Some say it is a bit boring or sanitised, but I still think it's fun.
Thinking of booking PCGB Silverstone too. It's the Monday following the Classic so makes sense to combine 2 events given the travelling I always have to do. robj4 said:
Looks like I'm covered with insurance through Mannington for PCGB trackways so booked Anglesey! Help for a newbie appreciated please. (Took the instruction option too). Be nice to chat with others, and Anglesey looks spectacular enough to visit anyway.
I don't have track day cover so either I pay for a one off or am ultra careful. Took the 20 minute instruction too. Sounds like there might be a few from PH going browngt3 said:

Locktons is also a good choice and i've only heard good things about them..Avoid specific one day only Track cover as when i enquired it cost a fortune plus a compulsory 10% excess which if i bin my RS would pinch..Also difficult to do an agreed value basis which is important on a new RS.
Being careful isn't good cover as if your GT3 is involved in a no self fault incident you'll still be liable for your car's damage.
You probably know all of this anyway but i felt it prudent to remind you.

Anglesey is a great circuit ... it's a bit of a nuisance that there is no fuel on site, but it's great value on the PCGB calendar.
I have booked .. the only one so far next year after the RS Oulton day ... is it my imagination or are the PCGB days now rather expensive ?
Hi Chris , when is the Anglesey date please ? Thanks I have booked .. the only one so far next year after the RS Oulton day ... is it my imagination or are the PCGB days now rather expensive ?

I'd get track insurance sorted before doing track days if i was you..I strongly recommend Footman James as the broker i use and my RS insurance is with Aviva Specialist cars..Five TDs included and only £100 extra for another two which you can add on at any time..Another bonus is the TD excess is only £3k over my RSs standard £1k excess..This excess is on an RS with an agreed value of £250K so probably even lower on yours. All European tracks are also included in the policy with the same terms..

Thanks for the advice John. You're probably right about being careful not being adequate insurance. I am sure I will enjoy the day better if I'm properly insured. Don't think my current cheapskate insurers LV cover track days. Guess I will need to cancel and look at one of those you mention. I have also just booked PCGB Silverstone. I've already booked Anglesey and i'll book SS as well probably tomorrow..I really like SS as its such a safe, flat and very wide track..Ideal for keeping out of harms way.browngt3 said:

I use A Mannings and have found them good. They will not include Nurburgring cover within this (though most don't) but will for a one-off, per event fee.

s others say, there are firms who will include track day cover for a certain number of events per year, provided they are organised by a recognised club (e.g. PCGB) or accredited track day organiser (ATDO etc.).

FWIW. The day fee for the Ring is also the same for Spa.
