992 left the factory!
Discussion
Congratulations . I am having trouble understanding the timing from leaving the factory to arriving at the dealership. Everyone seem to be thinking in terms of 2-3 weeks from completion to picking up from the dealership, whereas my scheduling says my car leaves the factory (V333) on 29th March, but doesn't drive at the dealership until 10th May. It seems to wait at Grimsby for 2 weeks, then takes a week to go from Grimsby to Sheffield! I am confused to say the least

My 997 Cab had to be done as above. On another note, I followed a silver 992 out of OPC East London on Wednesday afternoon. It was being driven rather spiritedly! I was wondering if one of the sales staff were having a quick try-out.

I wasn’t informed of the build date of my last new Porsche (also Sheffield) but was contacted when it was waiting to board the ship at Emden. I’d collected it less than 7 days later. Good luck to all you peeps waiting for 992s.Erniemcp said:
Seems there is a problem with the tires on cars that have left the factory. In short they have to be changed, I’ve no other details than that, cause or what they’ll be replaced with. Also hear the door handles are proving temperamental.
Porsche do an amazing job if fking this kind of thing up...how on earth can they have fitted the wrong tyres ?!?!?Erniemcp said:

I remember issues posted here with the new Cayenne too.Is there more risk being an early adopter with Porsche these days?

I spec”d my 992 c4s on January 12th, was told it was March 5th build and should receive car early April 2019. As of yet still no confirmed date for the car and have been told it’s in production still ! Latest I’ve been told is end of may but don’t hold out much hope for that either. Anyone else got similar issues or perhaps an answer ?

I can’t see how it could be in production for more than a few days. Maybe their system doesn’t give much info so that’s just the last they heard. The whole line would stop if they ran out of certain parts and there isn’t much storage space at the factory is they have cars built but not ready to ship. Worth escalating a bit to see what’s going on.
