Thanks Apolo1!

Much of the CF parts people buy are from China. DB is based in Germany, comes with an amazing warranty and is the highest quality.

I know people that bought items from them and are very happy. They had a one off intro group buy on Rennlist and everyone was very happy with the delivered product.

They have confirmed in writing to me that it is a matching weave. They even raised the point that the interior weave is different it the exterior weave and they match both.
Thanks for doing all the leg work on the Carbon bits..DB Carbon sounds great but needs to be significantly less than the Oem solid Carbon..I assume the Oem Carbon parts have the same weave pattern as the bonnet/roof..

I'm getting the Carbon parts for my RS..I asked my SA at my OPC yesterday for a price to supply all the Carbon for the Naca ducts, Fender grilles and side intakes..Total came to approx £4K but as he pointed out they're all solid Carbon unlike Techart which is just a veneer..I don't know what DB Carbon's are..
If DB's are just a veneer i'm tempted to get the OEM solid Carbon..

I asked my dealer first also. Here is the problem. They don’t make the NACA ducts, only the side intakes and fender vents.

If I am wrong please let me know.

I would also suggest check Rennlist where many have ordered from them and are very happy.

If OEM is available for all the parts at £4k that’s good, but doesn’t seem right to me.

Looks like the Speedster is out.....

Hi APOLO1. Long time no talk. smile

Thoughts on the Speedster? I’ve still got the 911R (in Australia) and I’m concerned the final spec of the Speedster might be too little, too late. I’ve got my name down for a 992 Turbo S and that excites me more.

If the OEM parts include the NACA ducts and are at that price, sign me up to.

We all want the same thing so thanks for sharing.

Hi, Hope this finds you well.
And me still have my 991-R, great fun on open roads. Yes the 992 Turbo S, looks like its going to be a game changer. If the 992 C2s is any thing to go on. Try and get test drive in one on open roads. Will you be at CFS later this year?

First of all, well done for getting a car, hope to see you on track at some point.

Over the years i have brought lots of none OEM parts for my 911s. In my experience is always best in the long run to stick to the OEM parts if you can. Don't forget we should be able to get 10% off anyway for being PCGB members.

I got the call i was waiting for a week ago with good news that i was fortunate enough to secure an RS allocation..To say i was both overjoyed and more than a little relieved is an understatement..I count myself very lucky indeed to be offered an RS especially as i gambled last year on waiting for the WP to be available.
Hi Taffy, really pleased to hear you got an allocation. I saw Hunter's black car at Silverstone last year and thought that's the way to do it. cool

Many thanks..As you know my ultimate car is the CGT and maybe one day i'll be lucky enough to get one..Now i'm really chuffed to be getting an RS WP..It was seeing Hunter's RS at Oulton that made me go for a black one.
How are you getting on with your new 720S.? Real game changer i'd say..

Cheers..I'm still none the wiser regarding the effect of the GPF..Some others have said that there will not be a GPF on the second batch..Personally i think from a legal POV there is no way that Porsche will get any derogation to avoid fitting the filter..
You seem to be better informed than most on here..Any news on this..?

Happy for you John. You must be over the moon!. My OPC hasn't even bothered to contact me...bit short sighted based on the number of cars I bought from them.

See you at Silverstone!

Thanks Nick Don't assume that just because they haven't phoned you yet doesn't necessarily mean you're not getting one..I should know as i went through the same waiting process..
I've just read on Rennlist that the RS fitted with the GPF has lost 20PS down to the same 500PS as the standard GT3..If true it seems that Porsche were unable to overcome the negative effects of the filter..
With only 500PS its taken the shine off for me personally and if the 992TTS will have the rumoured 650PS i might swap my RS for one of those next year..This new GPF has really killed off the NA engine IMO..
To add insult to injury i've also heard that the 718GT4 has had the NA engine dropped for the production version, to be replaced by a 3L Turbo from the 992..

Not sure 13 bhp makes any real difference ..... maybe the sound , but I think the .2 RS is a bit too loud with the exhaust open ... also sure this all can be overcome ...

Losing power and sound is a real bummer to be honest. I am sure there will be a way to remove the GPF and fit a proper exhaust on her.

If that’s true about the 718GT4 then that just also be true for the Spyder.

Interesting... Is that on RL or another source? I hadn’t heard that rumour for a while!

Cheers

Taff after all this s—t about getting one,you will get rid of it for a blower and because its 20bhp less, which you will not notice mate.
Do the honourable thing and give it up to some one who really wants onebiggrin

If i recall correctly the 520bhp on the GT3 RS, comes from the extra 17BHP, by way of the Ram Air effect on the rear intakes. As the SP does not have these due to the Roof Stuff etc, then i would expect the SP to be down a bit on BHP to the RS.

Hi Taffy. Early days with the 720 and running in but still mighty rapid even at part throttle. Lovely thing to drive and the looks are growing on me. I’ve got a number of Euro trips planned this year so will report back more fully later. That said the first trip is early May but as the CGT is just back from service it will get first dibs.

Sorry Paul about all the s--t i i've spouted recently.I was under a great deal of pressure..biggrin
I'm only joking about chopping it in for a 992TTS...Off hand i can't think of anyone i know who really wants one more than me.confused I can solve the GPF in ten minutes with an oxy-acetylene which i'm more than happy to do for anyone else for one off special price..
