They’ll be compliant with regs 100% but will have an arrangement to allow them to supply a final few cars without the filter as a follow on of an existing model imho. They couldn’t do that with the Speedster as it was a new model.

Same motor, no filter for the remaining RS imho.
Voila. May ask to fit one in mine anyhow, maybe three...one up each exhaust and one in the ashtray.

My next big worry is the stitching and whether it matches the brake callipers and my golf bag.
I’d also like my own name embroidered into the headrests...rather than the Mr Weissach’s , whoever he is.
Finally, I’ve asked for the RS acronym to be replaced by what it refers to...Really Special.

Then that’s it’s...all ready for the high street...back of the net.

Don't forget, you'll have to delay your collection to get the whole car covered in a £10k plastic film, because you wouldn't want the risk of a stone chip would you..?

Then you'll obviously have to get the brake calipers removed and repainted to match the interior stitching...And did I mention that these gen 2 RS's understeer like you wouldn't believe..? But fear not, a mate of mine has got the proper toe and camber settings...bring it over to my place, I've got some mole grips and a toffee hammer, I'll have you sorted in no time.... you can squeeze out the air bubbles in your plastic wrap while you wait.

If that was possible wouldn’t they have done that with the small run 991.2 GTS’s they built between last October and Jan/Feb ?

Im told the late run 991.2 GTS cars have the 992 S engine with the GPF. Same output.

I will take you up on that, but need to drive very slowly through the village first, Costa have just cleaned their windows and the reflection is dazzling.
It’s the Geo I’m worried about. Porsche know nothing about set up, so looking to get to Mankini or something, to get a proper set up.
Need the big toe turned in a bit on one of the wheels as definitely pulling left on the second speed bump at my Masonic Lodge. The sudden understeer made my Costa froth spray all over the ermine dash. Need that clingfilmed too.

I think “increasingly likely” is a bit of s logical leap at this point.

The ITB could be a point for Porsche to use to differentiate the Speedster, which is a brand new model and I’m sure the cost is not insignificant.

The exhaust on the RS is also titanium and not the same as the regular GT3 on which the Speedster is based which may or may not be a factor, I don’t know.

The Second batch of RS is exactly that, a second batch of existing cars that has some additional options. Under normal circumstances these would be indistinguishable from the first batch but the emissions testing has got in the way, making it a bit more complicated.

If they had added the ITB to the remaining run out of 991RS as an enhancement, it would be very unlike AP not to mention it! Will probably see it on the 992 at least.

My bet for the remaining RS: same engine, filter, less muffling, same power, pretty much the same noise.

There’s a post on Rennlist where a guy has a Swiss car coming and the spec mentions the filter.

Edited to add: the plot thickens. It looks like the Swiss car is specifically without a filter? I give up. Let’s wait and see, but I’m changing my bet to same set up in the last batch, no filter.

This was posted in the Speedster thread. About nine minutes onwards they talk about engine spec.

‘Configuration exclusive to the Speedster’. I think we can expect a modified exhaust and no other changes.

Great find!

Some interesting things in this video

1) Exhaust valves are now electronic and not vacuum. I wonder if this could eliminate the 4K transition if one turns exhaust on.?

2) Heritage does seem to be only for GT Silver. Those old school badges are awesome. I assume 95% of all cars will look exactly the same.

3) It does seem clear the last batch of 3RSs won’t have this exhaust setup as pointed out above.

I must say the heritage looked good in the video. It kills me that virtually all the cars will be looking exactly the same.

It's hard/impossible to get different brake caliper colours unless your name is Porsche or Piech. Bit daft as obviously silver is a standard caliper colour on other Porsche cars.

I'd definitely be more tempted to go CXX on the wheels. I know it's a .1 but a homage to the 997.2 RS works pretty well (got the mirrors and door handles wrong in my book)

IMHO that looks so right on the 997.2 and so wrong on the 991 frown

There is a lot of truth in the messages about how some of us treat their cars. But I think most of us do it out of true passion and not to make a statement. And the whole speccing a car and find these little things which can make them so special and personal to us as well as the wait are as exciting as the ownership and what defines the unique experience of 911 GT. I admit I should drive my cars more often than I do but each mile is special, puts a smile on my face and of my passengers (kids or adults) when I do not go for a selfish drive! And sometimes just going to the garage and look at them can be a quick fix after a difficult day. I still find some interesting features or curves each time I look at my cars.
Then, re how Porsche has dealt with the PF situation on the final UK batch of 991.2 GT3 RS... we all want to know and we will soon know. Reading the forums as speculative as it is is also part of the fun! I feel more and more confident it will be a good solution (or status quo - this is still a possibility according to some). But one thing for sure, I am very excited about this car coming as... I truly miss my first batch GT3 RS! Those of us who have one should organise a little group drive or Silverstone half day in September!

Words of wisdom here which is a rarity on this divisive thread..A great mix of people contributing to this thread from the lucky ones with an allocation all the way to the bitter ones who didn't, and everything in between.
My 991.2GT3 is now 18mths old and drive it when i have time although less than i used to, due to having to share my fun driving time with a 458 and 981 Spyder.I had the front end PPF'd for about £1.2K(Not the daft £10K) as i bought it to drive and take on trackdays when time allowed. If my original intention when i bought my GT3, was just to drive it home, park it in the garage and the promptly drive it back to my OPC to flip it with only 3-400 miles then i wouldn't have wasted my money on PPF.
I'm part of a gang of P'headers who have organised a Silverstone track day on the first Monday June where i'm sure you'll be more than welcome to join us, spare place permitting.
I agree that the vast majority of posters on here are like minded and wish everyone else the best of luck in all motoring matters even after securing an RS allocation.
Happy easter to all and peace and goodwill to all men(and women)..Nothing wrong with some optimism however ambitious..!

Pete - how does your RS compare on the road to the blue 720 of your mate in that photo?

I still feel sad about not getting a .2 GT3 (or RS!) but I also can’t help but have my head turned by the spaceship styling and undoubted capability of the Macca 720 which is now in a very similar price range. Having said that, I’d like the Macca’s to find a pricing floor and the ownership proposition and dealer network aren’t quite at Porsche levels.

Either way I think I’ll hold off for 6 months or so. I’m operating on a one in one out basis for cars right now and selling is not simple either; I almost did a part-ex on my 997.2 Gt3 for a 991.2 GT3 but price delta was too wide for me to get happy.

720 is simply another level up ..... scary fast and I think they are amazing cars . Yes he had 1 fuel pump failure but otherwise been great . I guess the RS has only 1 small rattle .... after 5 k miles and 5 track days .
But been in driven a 675 LT and 720 , prefer the 720 due to the doors and roof , but epic cars .

Great photo that P..Your RS at 5K with Steels,No Clubsport,No LEDs and covered in £10K of polythene can't be worth more than a packet of crisps.;) Ah well, knowing you P you don't give a damn about its value as you actually bought it for driving driving..Perish the thought.nono

That’s it then I am not taking delivery... just kidding! I can’t wait to know the full story of how they dealt with it! Maybe I am too much of an optimist but... I am getting excited about the Gen 3 engine statement.
