They look truly amazing in yellow, just not with the brown interior!

Looks like they were asking £570K for the car. I am not a fan of the ascot brown interior at the best of times.
It does look pretty awful against the yellow

I know te owner of this car. It came from Kuwait. It's a good honest car and has recently had a clean bill of health from reading as well as a damper rebuild, although the colour combo is a little marmite. It's weird, cars from the middle east have never sold well over here. I've never owned one, but in my experience cars from that part of the world are well looked after mechincaly as the owners tend to be pretty well heeled.

That’s interesting.

Serious question - we’re talking about a near on 1/2 mil £ car - surely if one wanted to change the interior it would be a negligible amount vs the overall value?

This car would presumably be bought by someone who is going to use the car so why not. Although I don’t think the interior is that bad....it’s pretty popular on these cars. I know it’s a hard ask with the yellow but fk me you’ve got a bright yellow CGT....life is good!

There seems to be another white CGT for sale privately..Its a late 2006 car with 18k miles and also just had the major engine out 4 year service..Asking £495k which seems realistic if the car is every bit as good as described.

There are two white cars that used to be silver.

I totally agree. There appears to be two markets. Collectors cars with south of 10,000 miles for 600 to 700 k and cars with normal mileage on them that are circa 500k. They are pretty easy to retrim so I wouldn’t hesitate. These cars begged to driven not stared at in garages.

Well it’ll be interesting to see what it goes for...clearly a car that divides opinions in its current spec!

Looking at thins the opposite way around, even easier and cheaper to wrap into a different colour.

Isn't every painted external panel individually removable on the CGT? If so would be an easy(ish) respray.

With the exception of the windscreen surround (part of the tub) all panels are removable, in fact they were all painted off the cars when new.

Seller has had a shocker though...what did they net ? £350k?! Surely they could have done better than that!

Good write up ,thanks for sharing.

May I ask how much this extensive service cost ?
It was more than usual because I elected to have some parts repainted and there were some one-offs like engine mount replacement.

All told it was just over £20k for the service and a similar sum for the gearbox work (including shipping), which, as I mentioned, including some elective work to replace the differential parts with the forged components.

Cheers
Great little write up. I had in my head a figure nearer 100k so in that context the bill doesn't seem too bad.

The ‘cheapest’ one on James Edition is £550k so I’d be a bit annoyed.

Take the comms out that go to Coys**and you're talking about a CGT for £450k with VAT. Seller got killed.

I reckon the market for ALL these things is softening and fast. F12 TDFs, 599 GTO's, F40's and at the lower end 812's and GT2RS are now getting killed. I think the dealers advertised prices are hilarious.
Good luck guys, it's gonna be rough ride no matter which government gets in.

Back on topic. Wonderful car, and wonderful thread. Thank you Stefan!

  • had the car been on SOR somewhere else/ANYWHERE else, seller could probably have gotten away with paying £10k in fees AT MOST and pocked north of £400k).
