Sad so few go to owners prepared to use them as Porsche intended. Is it really £250k list as I've seen mentioned on other threads? Thats a bit too much especially if thats before options. Better off with a 991.2 GT3 surely? Crazy isn't it. 8 or 9 years ago nobody would of wanted to buy it either. Remember the huge discounts OPCs offered to sell the 987 Spyder? Wasn't a huge market for a car with a tent as a roof. Now *everyone* wants one because they can make a few quid RSVP911 said:

Well....to be fair given you've gotten yourself a .1rs, gt4 and .2gt3 you aren't finding it quite as impossible to get unobtainable cars compared to quite a few others....isaldiri said:

I got my RS purely by being a very loyal long standing customer to my OPC but at no point were any secret deals offered or made by either party to secure an RS..They wanted an RS to go to a loyal easy going client but one which is a true Porsche enthusiast who fully intends to enjoy his new RS and not flip it for a quick profit.
I'd like to think that the Speedster allocations will be chosen with the same ethos by other OPCs as seeing them being flipped at independants with no miles on them is a good way of losing Porsche enthusiasts.

Porsche has been so successful with their Birkin bag strategy, that they are also belatedly getting in on the overs act at source, by bumping up the prices.
Speedster is a niche 911, being sold at £250k, and is a 'limited edition' plaque car, which is being produced in similar numbers to the entire run of 997.1RS, more than the 997.2, slightly less than 964RS total production, about double total 993RS, 3x996 RS, etc.
If and when the music stops, will dealers buy back the watches?

But isn't the point that Porsche at the moment (in the rhd UK market anyway) is one of those businesses it seems. When there is a long queue of people wanting to buy any of the GT cars, if you are one of the people getting quite a few of them without having to buy multiple cars and/or jumping through all kinds of hoops then I'm not sure how one can say anything other than that person is 'doing quite well' to get said cars. P.S I thought the 964RS production number was >2000 so somewhat more than the Speedster.

If it is 250k Sterling, then it is about the same or slightly less than a GT2RS (in euros in Germany) - maybe they just decided not to continue to subsidize the UK market now that they are dropping out of the EU and are therefore less important

There's wisdom in your words..The one caveat is that there's been no official announcement of Uk Speedster prices and therefore its purely speculation..There might be a nice surprise in for the lucky UK buyers in terms of the list price.Taffy66 said:
