A lot of Porsches have had very significant delays throughout UK OPCs so yours is not an isolated incident...Porsche promised delivery times are extremely unpredictable and frustrating..Porsche seriously need to take a good long hard look at the way they're treating loyal customers lest they abandon ship,!
Tell me about it,I was originally a July build, one of the first WP cars, what the fk happened?

I've experienced a similarly log delay as you have on another car..The Porsche factory are having serious issues in meeting build targets causing considerable problems for punters..The RS WP is an absolutely amazing car and well worth the wait however i fully understand your frustration..
Porsche make a brilliant range of cars however they've recently fallen into a trap and succumbed to corporate greed.

Mines the 4th so it'll be in the compound with yours
Juno, on the 4th Oct you posted the above and see my reply-my car is with the dealer now so your car must be

see your post..."Congrats to all those of you that have and are enjoying your car

I’ve just had an update and mines now delayed until late November early December"

Edited by Porsche guy on Friday 1st November 10:24
Yes exactly as my post says, my car was in the factory compound code V333,OPC advised it was awaiting shipping to the UK. However it now transpires that it was in the compound built but had not gone through exclusive for some of the extras at that point. Further phone calls by the OPC have found that it now resides in the exclusive dept hence delivery estimate now late Nov

I hope that clears things up biggrin

Hi Juno,

Your car has now been moved around so many compounds that it will have 10.000 miles on it before the hand over. Happy waiting : ) (It’s crap weather anyway so maybe not all that bad).

I took my RS 4.0 to its annual service last week and on the Cup1 tyres it was so incredible slippery, I decided there and then to but some new tyres on the thing. Tyre technology has come a long way since 2013 which was the year of manufacture of the original ones.

After watching the Rugby world cup final yesterday morning i'd planned to go for a drive in my new RS..Alas due to the biblical rain we had; an ark would have been more suitable so the RS stayed in the garage.
If the weather lets up and allows me to get it run in i'm going for a track day at SS however the 11th is probably too soon..

do we know roughly how many WP cars will have come to the UK once they've all arrived?

Roughly about a hundred in the second batch with i'm guessing 80% with Weissach pack.

Taffy when are you going to show us pictures of this new sexy beast you collected from out OPC this week? I bet you are well chuffed

Did you get to see the red speedster a customer was collecting. It looked beautiful with the black wheels.

That sounds about right, it was 128 for last years Gen 2, bit less for this new Gen 3.

Managed to drive my Gen 3 car back to back with the Gen 2 LG car last week at PEC. First thing i noticed is that you sit lower in the PEC car, need to make sure my car is on the lowest seat setting. As the PEC car has done over 6k miles it felt a lot loser than my car, even so Gen 3 cars though does feel like it revs harder and that it has a bit more "grunt" over 6k rpms. The PEC car is definitely a little louder on start up, once on the move they both sounded the same to me. The Gen 3 car did have a bit more feel, responsive, through the steering, presume this is down to the Mag wheels.

Both felt great cars to drive.

I'm surprised Porsche haven't finished delivering the cars as I was under the impression that they had wanted them all done before 31 Oct to avoid the risk of a 10-15% import duty

Some options on UK cars are done via the Cxx team, they are now running into the US speedster builds they have a lot of Cxx optioned cars. One Large Group of OPCs told me that all cars ordered signed and deposited before 31-10 will be price locked.

I'll post some pics when i find a suitable backdrop ie not shining in a showroom..It'll be on track in the next month or so and i'll take pics in its natural environment..Actually i've just got back from a drive with my daughter to see if she likes it..She loves it although still hasn't forgiven me for not getting it in Miami.!
The Guards red Speedster with the red ringed black wheels was being handed over to its lucky owner on Thursday when i was picking up my RS..It looked fantastic and the colour really suited it..Its their third Speedster BTW which is one more than they were originally getting..
The roads were strewn with gravel, dirt and leaves today after last night's floods and my RS was absolutely filthy when we got back..Good thing with the Ceramic coating was it meant just a quick hose down and it was gleaming again.

I think this time of year is still a great time to enjoy the RS on the road. Where the temperature is not too cold, and with the addition of rain, just makes the RS a joy to drive with the lower limits of adhesion. You get to feel the chassis without needing to push the car, and the darker evenings means the roads are a bit less crowded and you enjoy the brightness of the LED PDLS and being at one with the car, while the heavy droplets of rain impact your windscreen, with the wipers at full tilt.

My five day complementary Porsche insurance have elapsed and i've just renewed it with my existing insurer which is Aviva Specialist cars through Footman James..FT are an absolute pleasure to deal with and after checking the market for current values i have an agreed value of £250K..Track cover included even on European tracks..FJ one of the rare companies you get to speak to someone straight away without being put on hold for an eternity listening to Bongo Bongo music..

Being now safely insured i took my RS for a quick 50 mile spin over my favourite mountain route tonight..Again i'm pretty surprised how different it feels to my GT3..It turns in like a Scud missile and superb damping coupled with Mag alloys allows the car to breathe with the road even better than the GT3..
A couple of mundane observations compared to the GT3 are the superior LED lights which light up the night sky like daylight..One major criticism i had with the GT3 was the rear wing blocked view in the mirror whereas the RSs wing is higher leaving an uninterrupted view..The fuel economy is typically brilliant as in all the NA 911s i've owned over the years and better than my thirsty old GT4..
Its more chuckable in corners where you can take it by the scruff of the neck..It inspires more confidence for some reason coupled with faster more responsive turn-in..

I switched my 981 Spyder which was with FT for my RS so it wasn't a completely new annual policy..The additional premium i paid for the exact 120 days left on the annual policy was £153 which means that for a whole year it costs £612 more than the Spyder..Incidentally my Spyder was insured for £75K and i have an agreed value of £250K on the RS..The underwriters even checked the value against some currently on the market before agreeing to this..
