Plastic crap should not be on the car full stop, for the cost at production why o why did they do it.
If there was enough interest, there is a top carbon guy in hereford who does work and one offs for a good friend at concept racing.
10 sets would make it viable compared to companies already selling the parts in carbon.,just need some pattern parts to borrow!
That dipping looks ok,even if it is distorted a little.
I'd be up for some of that yellow if you can get ideas on $'s. hope all well, Ben.

The point is you don't tell anyone its been Hydro dipped..Let the busy bodies think its real Carbon..
If done well this Hydro dip looks superb.

I've seen many Daytonas that look superb which are VERY difficult to identify as fake (they even have the micro Rolex crown etched on the glass above the 6 marker), I personally would not buy one as it not what it's purporting to be but that's my view, each to their own.

The carbon ducts look far better on the GT2RS for sure but that a whole lot more $! I can live with the genuine plastic stuff and my legit Daytona!

wink

Hi,

Come in and take a look at my batch 2 WP that was done back in September last year. Available for anyone to see and compare with any other you may have seen. I am more than confident you will not see a better job. There is a huge difference a lot of the time between companies that offer PPF and pictures do not represent a true reflection most of the time. Also important to mention, sometimes single stage is machining is not enough and two stages are required especially if its a black car.

So it looks like Porsche Swindon have had 3 returned and flipped now which is probably there entire allocation

Is the divorce rate in Swindon exceptionally high? hehe

It makes you think this was all pre arranged, my dealer has had no WP3RS returned

Nothing new. Dick Lovett always have been renown for supporting "flipping". Appreciate it's not good for people who genuinely want a car to keep and use, but Dick Lovett are a business after all so if Porsche GB/AG turn a blind eye then you can't really blame DL for doing what is in the best interest of profit making. Most of these cars are bought first hand for intentions other than owning and driving, and as long as the premiums exist nothing will change, and tbh I don't think anyone at PGB or their OPCs really want it to change. Lets be honest - it's made a lot of people a lot of money.

Although we complain about the flipping there hasn't really been many of these for sale compared to the likes of Pista,SVJ,600LT,Perrfomante etc etc, just the odd one here and there whereas there are dozens of the others

I think the majority of WP/RS will have found there long term owners after the initial few going on sale!

The classified adds in P'heads etc only tell half the story as a lot will have been flipped incognito..The thing that puzzles me most is after driving such an amazing car any genuine petrolhead would be loathe to part with it, unless they're not really into GT Porsches just the profit side of it..
It just seems to be going through a lot of faffing about to make a bit of money..I'm assuming one needs to be pretty wealthy in the first place to get an allocation so the extra money isn't going to be exactly life changing.confused

@Taffy66

Agreed - the car is so capable, what could you possibly replace it with?

I can't see the incognito market being very big Taffy,at the end of the day if you've got something to sell you have to let people know it's for sale,I dont think there are people just falling out of bushes with 250k to buy incognito cars that there mate might have heard about.

As most of these flips are in conjunction with profiteering dealers that's the reason most of them are going back through network to secure the next flip allocation.Yes a few have escaped the network for sure but you can tell there not laying about in any numbers and no return to dealer equals no next allocation.

Loads for sale not on sites, same with 718 GT4,

Rich vips no risk, they get a car offload it to a 3rd party who have a little black book of clients.

.Org owner makes tax free cash, hardly hassle.

I think you've spent too much time in London Zoo at feeding time hehe

I have a very rich friend who definitely DON'T need the money,he gets everything he wants through a major group across all makes but its a cycle of one special car returned for the next.

He buys Porsche Ferrari Lambo Bentley Rolls but it doesn't matter all the specials go back after a few months and then he gets the next special. It's a very clear understanding, if he breaks the cycle he doesn't get the next offering.

Even the old faithful customers who have been buying GT cars for years within that group when they were not even that popular are being frozen out. Allocations are done by the group HQ and not at dealer level, the group has no interest in one or two retail enthusiasts when they have BIG hitters spending millions across their range.

He once said I'll introduce you but as soon as they worked out I wanted a car to keep I was given the Big fk Off treatment, despite the intro from one of their elite customers I was of no financial use to them. They keep a very tight rein on where these things go!

On the other hand you have the way my dealer group has worked,GT cars are spread out amongst known customers who in their opinion and after much scrutiny wont flip them but will use them. It's also made clear that once you get a GT car don't just expect to get the next one and the next one. They don't even really want them back until they are out of the model range production and fairly well used. It's very clear though If you do flip one you won't get another, they are spreading the love which I think is a good idea.

To say that they are available to serial incognito sellers in any volume is simply nonsense, I know of two such people and they are constantly looking for stock but they simply can't get their hands on much of it and even if and when offered the owner wants the flip money.

Hasn't Yellow got his eye out for one?

Current special cars for sale:

17 SVJ
17 Pista
33 600LT
12 Senna

2 WP GT3RS

Says it all really
