We all know they drive well but what’s the general feeling on Mclaren build quality now? Should be starting to iron out the issues now they have been going for a few years.
The cars by and large drive very very well yes. They are amazing road cars and awfully quick on track albeit at some serious cost to consumables. However, the cars coming out of the factory are quite uneven in build quality especially early on in a model run. As production has ramped up with the 570s and 720s some of the cars have been....less than ideal to put it very mildly. Which is a step back imo from when build quality was pretty good at the end of the 650/675 production.

Or me. Proud of it. Did get a group buy on some Mother of Pearl gear knobs, but then realised my brand new 991.2 RS WP is automatic !.

Spoke to ‘my’ DP about getting some PTS otter skin driving gloves to match the stitching around the windscreen wash bottle, and was flabbergasted when he said it’s not listed in the Porsche Exclusive collection. I said, ‘I should be’ ...lol.

Last one out, turn the lights off.
Please otter skin was very 991.1, I prefer chinchilla Tods by Porsche Design.
Tods are so 2018 - better go the full hog and have the Billionaire ones with Vicuna lining - helps avoiding blisters from standing on the brakes all the time in Knightsbridge
Where exactly is the Knightsbridge Circuit and who holds the lap record?

Do all now they drive well?mine was nothing short of amazeing on the road, build quality not a problem, road manners and performance that porsche are yet to match in my view.
Just think how much you would have to spend to leave one behind on road or track!
Why flog up then when it's that good laugh
3 years and need a change, seriously great car, trying to find something to replace it,but keep asking myself why with the poor roads and congestion.I think the gt2rs could be a good wrestling challenge!

It’s all in the ‘search’ ....but my need for next new shiny thing has waned away I’m afraid.

Just been in the Mclaren forum, everyone driving driving no talk of values, stitchIng or warranty

AND

The lights are off yikes
That’s because the lights aren’t working along with most of the electrics, the car has been at McLaren for the last 2 months being repaired and the values are so low the owners are trying not to think about it.

Can you imagine what it must be like paying like close to 280k for a good spec 720s, this time last year, doing like 6-9k Miles and ringing round trying to get a bid/offer on the car right now.

Spoke to a DP recently who claimed that trying to do a deal with a Macca owner is nigh on impossible because very few people in the trade are prepared to even bid on them. Plus I have met a 720S owner who claimed that the suspension on his new 720S had collapsed. These are sad times for Macca owners.

The Problem for traders is, that if they buy in the likes of a 720s for stock, the car could well have dropped 20k Plus in "Market" price before and if a buyer could be found. Add in if something goes wrong and its away getting fixed for a while. This is what happens when supply is out of sync with demand. Having said this had a go in 600Lt recently thought it was brilliant to drive.

If you ship you clothes to the hotel in advance yes, or go with a mate in a Porsche who can take your bag for you :-)

600LT seems a great car though, just at what price do you get in.

The Mclaren like most other mid engine sports car of that type can comfortably take a helmet bag and a decent amount of luggage. Unlike you it seens, most people driving this type of car I reckon won't need extra baggage space for loads of clothes as they aren't fronting fashion event or preparing for a drag queen competition.

As you say, stacks of space, I've done over a week in Europe in the GT with a helmet bag no issues.

Must be all 911R's frilly undies that take up the space when he travels.
