Cons are potentially exorbitant costs and resulting in visible edges which trap dirt...I still haven't decided either way however paying thousands to PPF a car is a waste of money to me..I see the value in PPF on the front end up to a certain price point..My main concern is the soft flat black water based paint Porsche use overlying a white primer..
I have full ppf and there is no visible edges. Ceramic won’t protect it from stone chips. Respraying the bonnet will be a nightmare I’m sure.
Yes I’ve had PPF done by two different companies...the second you can’t see any edges. The first I won’t be going back to...it was okay but not good enough for the money.

Who did you use second time cheib,i have just removed some very yellow ppf from my car done by a firm in peterborough who would never do anything about it.
Do have to say though its great to see the original paint in such great condition, black rs ppf,no brainer as there aint many paint shops that can ever repaint as new if you intend using it,and the bare carbon!

Dont know why you would bother taff,as you wont use the car but only flip it back to the dealer, expect to see it at the oulton rs day 20 year anniversary next march wink

Based on a few PMs i've had from fellow RS owners i think i'm going to have to PPF it, well the front end at least...I've had a couple of quotes but not all wrap the edges which i'm not keen on..
Thanks Paul for your kind words.;) If i flip my new RS then it's a sure sign that the whole country will be going into recession..! I've already booked two nights at the Alvaney Arms so my second RS day will be on..I've already got some track days/tuition on my RS lined up before winter in readiness for Oulton...I never make the same mistake twice.biggrin

Mine arrived last week and I thought long and hard about PPF, I was very impressed with the honest opinion given to me by Topaz, no hard sell. Of course with a Weissach package the concern is not only the carbon bonnet (assuming unpainted) but also the leading edge of the carbon roof. I never thought I would do it but I went full PPF in the end. Also of course with a black car (6 of my last cars have been black) you greatly reduce the risk of swirl marks

I used Max Protect in Kings Langley...they’re a stones throw from JZM so do a lot of work on Porsche’s..I know of at least one other PH’er who has used them and was very happy. They also did the read bumper on my Cayenne...bumper had to be re-painted so I got it PPF’d as we have dogs jumping in and out and kids with school bags etc. I literally cannot see an edge anywhere on it and it’s got several pieces to it unlike a GT3’s rear bumper.

No edges where ?

There has to be edges, just a lot don’t do bonnet wrap rounds which I would want. But you cannot ppf a car have not have edges it’s impossible.

So...Call from OPC informs me that mines being built this week and shipped next - hopefully dodging the Brexit price hike party Question is, have all cars now been shipped, or is anyone still awaiting delivery?

Cheers
Peter

Mine is also apparently being finished this week!

Ours all must be some of the last off of the line, Tripplets!

I was informed a week ago that mine might turn up before end of September..I haven't heard anything since so assuming that it was a false alarm..Fingers crossed it'll turn up this week.

Presumptuous to say, but I believe the last ones off the line are supposed to be the best ones... bow

Last week, I was told to expect mine before the end of Oct... I'm going in tomorrow to get an exact date and hopefully I can avoid a very awkward conversation...

Anyone expecting a PTS?
