There is one distinct difference between the lift on the all 991s including the 991.2GT3 and the lift fitted to the 991.2GT3 RS..The 991.2 GT3 RS has a hydraulic system whereas all other 991s have a pneumatic lift..The former weighs half as much as the latter IIRC..Obviously the weight is only an insignificant amount but perhaps some of the workings might have other side effects..
..
Where on earth did joy pick that up ! I thought I read a lot about these cars but never come across that. I hope the hydraulic system isn’t via a PTO like it is on my tractor!
My 991.2 turbo was on a motor/worm gear setup i thought. It just whirred up and down ar equal speed whilst previous cars where clearly pneumatic as they let out a noticeable puff when let down.

My 991.2GT3 has the old pneumatic lift and makes that puff noise when going down...its the air being suddenly released. The new hydraulic system was first introduced on the 991.2GT3 RS and GT2 RS..The old system weighs approx 7Kg and the new system weighs 3.5Kg.
I suffer from a lifelong condition known by laymen as a photographic memory but more commonly known as Eidetic memory...This condition unfortunately always seems to re-call useless trivial info which i would prefer to wipe from my over taxed brain..

So three systems in use then! Electric (presumably), pneumatic and new hydraulic. You’d think they would just have one optimised solution!

Resurrecting an old thread, theres some new changes (mostly interior) to the 992 for the 2021 model year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4k05gh58WE

More electronics/automation, and now subscriptions (for the american market, at least)
