Anyone on here know or owed this car?

Be a big stretch for me from my 996.1 CS K400, I’d guess around £45-50k?

These were £60k back in 2009. What's the best guess as to where they are heading from current circa £130k down from £150k 3 years ago?
To be fair a lot of them are incredibly average cars that just went up in the bubble with tatty 993's /964 turbos etc...usually have hit and miss history because they weren't worth looking after..suddenly people think they are worth money so start 'tarting' them up and try and pass them off as cherished perfect cars..unfortunately you cant reverse the clock..concourse will still be sought after and command a premium.

The upside surely has to be that those tatty ones will be priced accordingly and driven. As a Petrolhead I would rather see them on the road or track rather than sat in showrooms or garages as 'assets'.

Some might argue, but unfortunately the car is very much collector status. I firmly held this view and was mindful to retain the RS's originality. Ok, I was looking for a visual change and personalised it Re the Riviera but keeping the car 100% factory was paramount to me. Subsequently, this cost a small fortune ie purchasing additional RS rims and new Michelins. Also new mirrors, as these had to be painted and again, I wanted to keep the original fitment ones in factory form to be able to revert back to original status quickly and without compromise.
So the idea of further colour coding was not really on the cards. I wouldn't of even considered undoing a trim screw or clip!
The cars rarity and perfection Re condition was a wonderful ownership proposition, as it is now, but also held me back from using. It didnt help that I am the equivalent 'Howard Hughes' car keeper custodian - Concours, the best without compromise or forget it !
So time to maybe buy something else and get some seat time

Will be missed like no other but the right decision for me personally
And I'm glad you did all of the above Jon smile

After having the 991.2 GT3 Touring then moving to a Ferrari 488 I feel I am getting back to what I love most about Porsches - Manual gearbox and the feel and thrill when driven. The 997.2 GT3RS may not have the power of the other 2 cars (if 450bhp can be classed as underpowered lol) but it puts a smile on my face that neither of the previous 2 did and gives me a sense that I am part of the car and more involved in what is happening.

Luckily for me this car feels like a new car and is a testament to the previous owners who have taken such great care of it, but I do intend to drive it (when the weather is good) and get the most out of this amazing car.

I was considering getting some Riviera Blue door pulls made to tie in with the outside?? Thoughts anyone?

Easy to reverse if you ever have to sell to an anorak and would set the whole look off very nicely. Why not? biggrin

Stunning motor.

Blue door pulls - do it.

I assume that you have blue Schroth harnesses too. In which case case closed, no excuses.

I agree they should be driven however that should reduce the collectability and value..unfortunately people with battered ones now expect top $ because they see 'nice' cars trading at high values..you cant have it both ways...

What's encouraging is that cars like the 997.2 at JZM which had some very well chosen, track specific mods (like ST brakes) are recognised as being a good buy, rather than shunned for being "non-OEM stock standard".

I can't imagine anyone has bought that, other than to use it as intended.
